Michael Carter II excited to reignite career with Jets’ new regime
The 2024 season could not have gotten off to a better start for Jets cornerback Michael Carter II.
Just before the regular season began, the Jets signed Carter to a three-year, $30.75 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid nickel corner in the league. But the good vibes did not last long for Carter.
An ankle injury suffered during training camp hampered Carter early in the season and then just as he started to recover from that injury, he felt pain in his leg during pregame warmups in Week 5 against the Vikings in London.
It turned out that the pain was being caused by a herniated disc in his back.
