Ex-Bengals coordinator Lou Anarumo shouts out New York Post in Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’

Former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo found out about Joe Burrow’s home being burglarized last season in the same way as many people: The New York Post.

Netflix’s second season of “Quarterback” released Tuesday, and Burrow’s Ohio home getting broken into while the Bengals took on the Cowboys on “Monday Night Football” in December was a major storyline of the show that follows Burrow, Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins.

In a mic’d up conversation between Cincinnati’s star quarterback and Anarumo, the latter revealed his shock seeing the news.

“Come in the morning, I look at The New York Post,” Anarumo told Burrow. “That’s what I do, right?”

“You’ve gotta be f–king kidding me,” Anarumo said of his shock reading The Post’s story of his quarterback’s $7.5 million home being burglarized.

Now, chances are that Anarumo could be reading this story about himself over a morning cup of coffee.

The Bengals had an up-and-down season in 2024-25, and Burrow’s home burglary while Cincinnati was busy securing a primetime victory seemingly felt like the cherry on top.

“Pumped up after a big win, walk in [the locker room], first thing I hear [is the robbery],” Burrow told Anarumo. “We catch a freaking break and then I come back to that. Brutal.”

“Is that not our year?” Anarumo joked about how on-cue that type of moment was for their season. “Hey, great job. Oh, by the way, you’ve got nothing left in your house.”

During the Bengals’ 27-20 win, a bedroom in Burrow’s home was ransacked, with burglars shattering a window and primarily taking jewelry.

Model and social media star Olivia Ponton was in the house at the time, which immediately sparked dating rumors between the two, which has only intensified since.

“That’s the only part I’m upset about,” Burrow said. “Like, all my business is out there. I got news vans camped out by the house. It sucks.”
