Texans’ Derek Stingley Jr. gets engaged to girlfriend on bye week
It was a bye week to remember for Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and his girlfriend, Annabella Campagna.
The longtime couple announced their engagement Tuesday in a joint Instagram post, revealing Houston’s Pro Bowler popped the question during the team’s off week.
“10•10•25 The most perfect day to say yes for forever,” the caption read.
Stingley, who began dating Campagna in 2023, presented his future wife with a massive elongated diamond set on a gold band.
Photos featured in the Instagram carousel even captured the moment Stingley, 24, got down on one knee in an outdoor setting.
The engagement comes weeks after Stingley and Campagna celebrated their second anniversary.
“In this life and the next it’s always you, Happy Anniversary,” Campagna, a Pace University alum, wrote on Instagram Sept. 9.
Last month also marked the start of Stingley’s fourth season with the Texans, who selected him third overall out of LSU in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The 2024 season was Stingley’s best in the pros, when he recorded a career-high 35 solo tackles in 17 regular-season appearances. He also caught five interceptions, matching his 2023 tally.
Stingley was rewarded with his first Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro nods, as well as a three-year, $90 million contract extension worth $89.02 million guaranteed.

The Texans dropped their first three games to open the 2025 season before winning two straight against the lowly Titans and injury-plagued Ravens to enter the bye week at 2-3.
Through those five games, Stingley has 10 solo tackles and an interception.
The Texans return to action Monday in primetime when they’ll face the Seahawks (4-2) on the road.
