Mary Steenburgen’s son’s horror at catching teen friends watching her naked in this movie

Ted Danson was a man on the inside of this awkward encounter.

The actor, 77, recently shared how his wife Mary Steenburgen’s son, Charlie McDowell, and his friends accidentally saw the actress, 72, buck naked.

“Mary did a film, ‘Melvin and Howard,’ and she won the Academy Award for it,” Danson recounted on Wednesday’s episode of “Where Everybody Knows Your Name.” “And she has a scene where she’s buck naked — it’s brilliant and it’s wonderful. Charlie, her son, when he was 15 maybe, he and his buddies are just [on a] Friday night bored and flipping around.”

“[Charlie] goes out to go get a sandwich and comes back into the room,” the “CSI” vet continued. “His friend had innocently landed on that scene.”

McDowell, 42, couldn’t believe what he came back to.

“Charlie walked back in and just reamed him out,” Danson explained. “He was so angry: ‘That’s my mom. What are you doing?!’”

The “Good Place” star also recalled his mom’s reaction to watching him in the 1981 erotic thriller “Body Heat.”

Danson placed his hands in front of his eyes, telling his guest Kathryn Hahn: “That’s how my mother watched ‘Body Heat.’ I wasn’t with her, but people told me she had her hands in front of her eyes the entire time.”

The “Bad Moms” actress, 52, could also relate to Steenburgen and Danson.

Hahn made it clear that her son Leonard, 19, is also avoiding watching her raunchy roles.

“He certainly can’t see any of the movies from that particular chapter,” she confessed. “He would be devastatingly embarrassed.”

“Just the thought of his mom in a movie like that or some of the other things I’ve done is understandably a nightmare,” Hahn continued, before talking about her part in “Step Brothers. “The first time I showed it to [my kids], my husband and I fast-forwarded so much of it that I think they saw a 17-minute movie.”

Along with Leonard, Hahn shares daughter Mae, 16, with husband Ethan Sandler.

Steenburgen and Danson, meanwhile, tied the knot in 1995. The “Proposal” actress also shares daughter Lilly with ex-husband Malcolm McDowell.

Danson is dad to daughters Kate and Alexis from his second marriage to Cassandra Coates.

In January, Steenburgen detailed a cheeky, fun fact about her decadeslong union with her husband.

“I admired him so much as an actor, but I didn’t personally know him. And I had this stupid idea that he was, like, maybe kind of a slick guy,” she gushed to People at the time.

Offering some insight into their sex life, Steenburgen joked, “How wrong I was. Slick guys don’t say, ‘gosh-a-rooni,’ after making love. I’d like to apologize to my granddaughters.”

She also quickly realized there was more than meets the eye when it came to Danson.

Like his fight “to keep the oceans of the world safe and thriving” along with his “kindness” on television sets.

The “Book Club” actress gushed: “And there is a reason that Ted is treasured by everyone who works with him … Ted sets the tone.”
