Meghan Markle is making her very first appearance at Paris Fashion Week.
On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, attended a Balenciaga show at the annual event, wearing a white oversized cape over a button-down shirt of the same color.
Meghan paired the light attire with black pointed-toe heels. She kept her hair in a slicked-back bun.

While this marked Meghan’s debut at Paris Fashion Week, she was a familiar face at New York and Toronto Fashion Weeks during her Suits years, attending multiple shows between 2013 and 2015.
Although Meghan, 44, has regularly appeared on red carpets since stepping back from royal life with Prince Harry, 40, in 2020, a fashion week appearance had remained elusive—until now.

Meghan’s style has also evolved in recent years, as she’s become a Montecito mother of two to Prince Archie, 6 and Princess Lilibet, 4. She remains a style icon since her days as a working royal, when she championed a variety of designers, including sustainable, socially-conscious Australian brand Outland Denim. Her style choices still resonate today, selling out accessories and outfits from La Ligne and Cesta Collective.
In a season one episode of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, the duchess explained her “lewk” to guest Mindy Kaling, noting that she likes a balance of “high-low” in her ensembles. That day, for example, she was wearing pants from Zara, a shirt by Italian luxury brand Loro Piana and a sweater from California designer Jenni Kayne.

Next week, Meghan and Harry, 40, will travel to New York City to accept Project Healthy Minds’ Humanitarians of the Year Award at the nonprofit’s World Mental Health Day Gala on Thursday, Oct. 9.
PEOPLE exclusively announced the honor, which is being presented to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their work to make the online world a safer place for families and young people, in addition to their strides to advance mental well-being globally.
In a statement, Harry and Meghan said, “Working with families and young people to prioritize safety online has been some of the most meaningful work of our lives. As parents ourselves, we have been moved to action by the power of their stories and are honored to support them. We’re proud to be long-time partners of Project Healthy Minds as we work together to shine a light on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time.”
Before heading home to California, Harry and Meghan will also attend Project Healthy Minds’ fourth annual World Mental Health Day Festival on Friday, Oct. 10.
