Prince William Reveals Who He First Saw ‘American Pie’ With

Prince William is revealing which of actor Eugene Levy‘s comedy films he’s a major fan of — and his top choice happens to be a raunchy sex comedy.

In the third season of Levy’s Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler, the Prince of Wales, 43, speaks at length with the actor, reflecting on his family’s history and how he’s making things different for the next generation of royals.

But at the outset of their conversation during an episode titled “Living the Royal Life in the U.K.,” William first jokes, “I heard you were in town, so I thought, why not get you over here? I was a big fan of your earlier films, Eugene, all the American Pies.”

He goes on to explain, “I’m afraid I was, I was of that generation.”

Levy then asks who watched American Pie, released in 1999 with sequels following in the early 2000s, with him.

“Lots of my friends,” Prince William explains.

The duo later headed to a local pub to continue their conversation. While there, they discussed the health status of William’s wife, Kate Middleton, and his father, King Charles.

Asked how they’re both doing now, William says, “Things are good. Everything is progressing in the right way, which is all good news. But, it’s been, I’d say 2024 was the hardest year that I’ve ever had. Trying to sort of balance protecting the children, Catherine. My Father needs a bit of protection, but he’s, you know, he’s old enough to do that himself as well.”

“But it’s important my family feel protected and have the space to process a lot of the stuff that’s gone on last year, and that was tricky trying to do that and keep doing the job,” he continues. “But you know, we all have challenges that come our way and it’s important to keep going.”
