Avengers: Doomsday will trump Deadpool & Wolverine, according to Channing Tatum.
The actor, 45, teased what Marvel fans can expect from Avengers: Doomsday when it hits theaters on Dec. 18, 2026, while speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his latest movie, Roofman.
“They [Marvel] set a bar for themselves [with] every movie, and they beat it every single movie,” said Tatum. “And I can tell you this, as I was reading it, I was like ‘No. What? How are they going to do this? I don’t understand how they’re going to do this.’ ”

“You’re just not ready,” he continued. “I don’t know how to describe it to you. It’s going to make your brains ooze out of your ears.”
Tatum, who appeared as the X-Men hero Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, said the best way he can describe what fans will feel watching Avengers: Doomsday is the same feeling they felt when Blade made a surprise cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.
“People are just going to physically lose their actual minds, and it’s that, but I don’t maybe times 50 because it’s going to be one of them things,” he said.
After expressing that people will appreciate the story and be shocked by it, he said he can’t divulge anything about it.
“But as a comic fan, you’re just not ready. You just ain’t ready,” he said.
While an official plotline for the movie has yet to be announced, the comics could give insight into what may happen in the film.
In 2011, a multi-issue comic titled Ultimate Comics: Doomsday was released. In it, the Fantastic Four team up with various Marvel superheroes to stop a mysterious villain trying to destroy their timeline.

In the comics, the villain is later revealed to be a familiar, heroic face who turned bad in the multiverse, setting the stage for Robert Downey Jr.’s return as Doctor Doom. Downey previously starred in the Marvel movies as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
