NEED TO KNOW

  • A few of the Chicago Fire stars are parents, including Dermot Mulroney, who is the dad to a son and two daughters
  • Christian Stolte’s two daughters have appeared on the show, including in the pilot
  • Chicago Fire season 14 premieres Oct. 1 on NBC

Firehouse 51 is like a family on Chicago Fire.

Dermot Mulroney, who joined the show in season 13, told NBC how the tight-knit cast quickly embraced him. “They, as a group, as a community, literally as a family, welcomed me with wide open arms,” he said.

The cast and their characters are close, but the set has been a family affair for some, like actor Christian Stolte, who plays Randall “Mouch” McHolland. Both of his daughters have appeared on Chicago Fire, with his eldest playing his daughter on the series.

Meanwhile, Stolte’s costars, Mulroney and David Eigenberg are also busy being fathers when they’re not putting out blazes on-screen.

In honor of Chicago Fire returning for season 14 on Oct. 1, here’s everything to know about the cast’s kids.

Mulroney — who has played Chief Dom Pascal since season 13 — is a dad to three kids.

Mulroney has a son, Clyde, from his first marriage, to Catherine Keener. He also shares two daughters, Mabel and Sally, with his estranged wife, Prima Apollinaare.

Clyde has followed in his dad’s footsteps, working in Hollywood. According to his LinkedIn, he attended Northwestern University, where he majored in film studies.

Since then, he has been a crew member on various film projects, as a camera operator, director’s assistant and other roles.

While Mulroney emphasizes the arts in his children’s lives, he supports whatever they decide to pursue.

“I don’t expect anything of them – it’s hard enough for everyone just to get their homework done at night,” he told The Hollywood News in January 2016. “Let’s just get them through grade school, and then see.”

Eigenberg — who plays Christopher Herrmann — has two kids with his wife, Chrysti Eigenberg. The couple have been married since 2002.

Their son, Louie, was born on Jan. 19, 2009, followed by their daughter, Myrna, whom they welcomed on Jan. 31, 2014.

The Sex and the City alum largely keeps his family out of the spotlight, but on Instagram in May 2024, he posted about a sweet birthday present his kids got for him in honor of his birthday.

“Well I hit 60 and my beautiful daughter and son and wife tracked this guy down for my old sentimental heart,” Eigenberg wrote in the caption of a photo of himself holding Cuddly Dudley, a puppet from the children’s show Ray Rayner and His Friends.

“If you are anywhere near my age and from the Midwest you will know how lucky and grateful I truly am my family and my friends … blessed,” he continued.

Stolte — who has portrayed Randall “Mouch” McHolland since season 1 — has two daughters with his wife, Kim Whitehead-Stolte.

For Stolte, his Firehouse 51 family and his real-life family have overlapped. The actor’s daughters, Corinne and Greta, have appeared on Chicago Fire.

“Both of my daughters have been on the show. My older daughter [Corinne] played my biological daughter,” Stolte told Parade in October 2021. “There was a storyline where there was an information leak and I was a sperm donor father, that type of thing.”

As for his daughter, Greta, she was “the first person rescued in the pilot episode,” the actor recalled.

“She’s now a freshman at Arizona State, but she was small enough that Jesse handed her off to David after they crawled out of a residential fire,” he added.

In addition to making an appearance on Chicago Fire, Corinne has also worked behind the scenes on another One Chicago production. According to her IMDb, she was a crew member on Chicago P.D. for 35 episodes, from 2014 to 2016.

Corinne played Randall’s daughter, Lizzie, on Chicago Fire, and reprised her role in a 2019 episode of Chicago Med.
