Jana Duggar Shares Mom Michelle’s Sweet Reaction to Her 59th Birthday Surprise in Florida

Jana Duggar is sharing a glimpse of her mom Michelle Duggar’s birthday surprise during another big family vacation in Florida!

The former TLC star, 35, documented the process of decorating her family’s vacation rental for her mom’s 59th birthday, as well as Michelle’s sweet reaction to it all in a Sept. 30 YouTube video titled, “Big Family, Big Birthday! Mom of 19 Kids Turns 59!”

In the video, Jana brings viewers along as she and her siblings get ready for the celebrations the night before. Jana can be seen preparing food in the clip, while her siblings blow up pink balloons for a balloon arch and hang streamers around the space. 

Jana’s husband, Stephen Wissmann, is spotted helping with the cleanup in the background. 

As her siblings tie some of the fully blown balloons, Jana, the oldest daughter in the Duggar family, notes with a laugh, “It’s only a 150-balloon, balloon arch. So, four down.”

She then offers a look at some of the other decorations, including a colorful banner that reads, “Happy Birthday,” and some orange roses resting on the counter, topped with a shiny balloon. 

Making another joke, Jana adds, “Don’t wake up mother. She doesn’t know it’s her birthday tomorrow.”

The next morning, Michelle is greeted by an elaborate streamer display outside of her door as her grandchildren yell, “Surprise!”

Michelle responds, “This is so great guys,” before walking through the decorations and exclaiming, “Woohoo!”

Her grandchildren then shower her with an array of gifts, including a crab they seemingly found on the beach. 

Jana then pans over all the decorations on display in their waterfront rental as the vibrant blue ocean peeks out in the background. 

The video concludes with Jana showing off her mom’s birthday dinner spread, as well as her being surprised with a cake that’s topped with candles that read “59.” In the background, her dad, Jim Bob Duggar, looks on with a smile as he sits on the opposite side of the table. 

A few more group photos pan onto the screen, including one of Jana posing with her husband as she cradles her baby bump.

As Michelle’s birthday is on Sept. 13, the celebrations came approximately one month after Jana and Stephen announced they were expecting their first child together. 

The married couple shared the exciting news in a joint Instagram post on Aug. 18, one year after their Arkansas wedding in 2024.

“We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family! We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives,” they captioned the post.
