Paul Skenes Showers Livvy Dunne on Her 23rd Birthday with Hundreds of Balloons and Flowers

Livvy Dunne is celebrating her 23rd birthday — with help from her boyfriend, Paul Skenes!

On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the former LSU gymnast celebrated her birthday and documented the festivities on her Instagram. She included a series of Instagram Stories showing off the Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher’s decorations for her birthday.

Skenes, also 23, decorated with tons of light pink and blue balloons, including a cake made out of balloons that nearly reached his shoulders. He made sure to gift her a big bouquet of white roses and as well as a blue and pink birthday cake.

In the video, Dunne can be heard saying “Oh my god,” before she tells him, “Good work.”

She also included a photo of a balloon that contained real cotton candy inside. The photo also captured a birthday sign that read, “It is your birthday,” referencing a famous joke from season 2 of The Office.

The 2024 National League Rookie of the Year also posted a sweet Instagram in honor of her birthday. Skenes included several photos of the couple at various public events — including the 2025 MLB All-Star Game in July and a night out in New York City on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Skenes also shared a few more photos of Dunne at home, including one of her celebrating her 23rd birthday. “Happy birthday @livvydunne ❤️,” he captioned the post.

Dunne and Skenes have been publicly dating since August 2023, and the gymnast has been open about their relationship. In July, she shared a TikTok, revealing that she uncovered an “invisible string” that connected her to her boyfriend before they met in college for the first time.

The link traces back to their days at Louisiana State University, where they both represented the school in their respective sports. However, the gymnast revealed that the connection happened even before he was an LSU Tiger.

Skenes played college baseball for the Air Force Falcons from 2021 to 2022 before transferring to LSU after his sophomore year. He was playing for the Falcons when Dunne attended her first LSU baseball game.

“I always knew he played for LSU but I never thought I was at the game, like I didn’t know I was there and I went to that game!” she said in her TikTok.

“That is just wild to me,” she said, adding, “I don’t know, it was just meant to be.”

That same month, the Sports Illustrated model spoke with PEOPLE exclusively and shared what the one relationship rule they both follow and how they make things work with their busy schedules.

“We don’t restrict each other from doing things,” Dunne told PEOPLE. “I’ve been in relationships in the past like that — where it’s almost like you have a leash on you, you can’t do anything.”

“But he has a job to do and I have a job to do — I know that’s so important for two young kids in a relationship to realize,” she shared. “So yeah, we just have a good time and it’s a two-way road.”
