Kim Kardashian Marks the 22nd Anniversary of Her Dad Robert Kardashian’s Death with Tribute Post

Kim Kardashian is honoring the life of her father Robert Kardashian Sr., 22 years after his death.

In an emotional post to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Sept. 30, Kim shared an edited photo that featured a present-day picture of herself in a graduation cap-and-gown, alongside the late Robert Sr., who’s standing next to his daughter with a beaming smile.

“Thank you for always protecting the family from heaven,” Kardashian wrote. “Can’t believe I was 22 years old when you passed away and it’s been 22 years today since you went to heaven.”

Robert Kardashian Sr., an attorney best known for his work in the infamous 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trial, died on Sept. 30, 2003 after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer two months earlier. He was 59.

In 1978, Robert Kardashian Sr. married Kris Houghton, now Kris Jenner, and the couple welcomed daughters Kourtney in 1979, Kim in 1980 and Khloe in 1984, and son Rob Jr. in 1987. Robert Sr. and Kris divorced in 1991.

“I’ve known you just as long as you’ve been gone,” Kardashian added. “I hope you’re so proud of all of us. We love you dad and miss you soooooooooo much 🕊️🥹.”

Also in honor of her father’s memory, Kim’s sister Khloé Kardashian shared a Reel to her Instagram Story that she originally posted in February 2024.

“I will forever hold space for you. Happy birthday daddy 🤍 I love you 🕊️,” Khloe wrote in the Reel’s caption. “thank you for everything 🤍 Every memory. Every lesson. Every laugh. Every ounce of love. Thank you!”

Kardashian’s daughters aren’t the only ones remembering Robert on the anniversary of his death. In her newly released memoir Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, his ex-girlfriend Priscilla Presley shared fond memories of her relationship with the attorney and entrepreneur, whom she briefly dated in 1975.

“Robert was a sweet man, and I liked him. But after a few months, I realized it wasn’t going to work out,” Presley writes.

In the book, Presley also revealed that Kim called her from Robert Sr.’s death bed so that the couple could have “one last conversation.”

“He was the kindest of men, and I remember him with great affection,” Presley added.
