Viewers are finally seeing the dramatic end of Micah Plath and Veronica Peters’ tumultuous relationship.

The former couple officially split in the season 7 finale of Welcome to Plathville, which aired on Tuesday, Sept. 30, following an intervention from Micah’s family. When Veronica refused to take responsibility for the physical altercation between Isaac and Micah, which landed him in the hospital, he was faced with an ultimatum.

“Either I strictly choose her over my family and continue down a very difficult road, or I just cut ties,” Micah said. “Veronica is not going to change. This is going nowhere.”

He then announced: “We are done.”

Veronica, teary-eyed, remained silent as everyone got up and left the room.

“I deserve more than to get cheated on,” she told cameras. “I deserve more than to get lied about. I guess when they went low, I went lower.”

She further admitted, “Maybe I did sabotage it at the end. Maybe I was so tired of this messed up family and this toxic relationship that I said, ‘Add the catalyst.’ So what if I did?”

The pair were first linked in 2023 and dated until early 2025. Reminiscing on the final few months of their relationship, Veronica acknowledged that she knew things between her and Micah were not going to work out.

“As things progressed, I made up in my own mind that I couldn’t be with somebody that could treat me like that,” she explained. “I was prolonging something that needed to happen long ago. If I could wish one thing, I wish it happened sooner.”

“I was scared to be alone because I thought being alone was the worst thing, but the worst thing is a toxic relationship where you lose love for yourself,” she added.

While she insisted she truly did love Micah throughout their two years together, Veronica blamed his family for ultimately pushing them apart.

“I never thought something like that would happen, but I guess it’s my fault,” she said.

As Micah figured out the next steps, his mom encouraged him not to drive back to Florida with Veronica to collect his belongings. Instead, he went with his brothers and she was taken by producers.

“If it’s drug out, prolonged, lengthened, anything, it’s going to be even harder,” he said.

The next day, Micah was escorted by police officers to move out of the home he and Veronica shared.

“It was hard,” he shared. “I guess not at first because I had been really frustrated, but after I started going through the garage and getting the last of my stuff and it really hit me. And I just broke down. I couldn’t help it. And she broke down.”

“She was like, ‘Why? Why?’ And, ‘Just tell me you never loved me. I need closure that way,’” Micah revealed of his interaction with Veronica. “I was like, ‘I can’t tell you that, and I loved you very much. I’ve never loved anyone like I loved you. I’ve never had a relationship like this.’”

Although he claimed Veronica wondered if she was his “Guinea pig,” Micah said that everything they had “was all very real.”

“‘I’m sorry I had hurt you as bad as I had, but I just couldn’t keep doing that,’” he told her, marking the last time the two ever spoke.

After temporarily moving back into his childhood home until he could find somewhere to live in Florida, Micah decided to do “a controlled burn” at the family farm. He noted that it was symbolic of the relationship’s demise.

“It will be a humongous cloud of smoke and it’ll look like a disaster,” he explained. “It’s a little scary if you do it wrong, but a controlled burn will prevent a more devastating fire later on. You have to burn it all down and get rid of the good with the bad if it’s not salvageable so they can start over.”

“It kind of feels like Veronica just kept pouring lighter fluid on a whole bunch of different stuff and tempting me to light it,” he continued. “And every time we get in an argument, every time she would threaten me to leave, tell me to pack my stuff, get out of here, I didn’t want to. I had a box of matches in my hand, but I didn’t want to use them.”

However, Micah also credited Veronica with forcing him to face his own issues.

“Even though she might not be the one, and it might have taken her for me to come to that realization [about] living a double life and not being transparent about my past,” he reflected. “I cheated on her. I feel very, very, very for putting her through that. And you know, I learned that all that will catch up to you. The truth always comes out and nothing stays secret for forever.”
