Somehow, George Clooney still makes the time to drive his kids to school every single day.
While appearing on the red carpet at the New York Film Festival, George, 64, told The Daily Mail that the routine brings a sense of “normalcy” to his life.
“I have normalcy. You know, I drive my kids to school every morning,” George told the outlet. “I have normalcy — except for this!”
George is father to 8-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, whom he welcomed in June 2017 with wife Amal Clooney, 47. Amal appeared alongside her husband on the red carpet in a stunning red velvet Oscar de la Renta mini-dress decked out in floral embellishments.

George was at the festival to promote his upcoming film Jay Kelly, in which the actor portrays an aging Hollywood star alongside costar Adam Sandler.
He’s also currently starring in the Broadway adaptation of the 2005 film Good Night and Good Luck, for which George earned a Best Actor nod at the 2025 Tony Awards for his portrayal of legendary investigative journalist Edward R. Murrow.
When he’s not busy starring on Broadway or making films, George is apparently hard at work making sure that Ella and Alexander aren’t getting caught up in the trappings of their father’s fame.
“I try to keep the kids away from that experience right now,” George said, sharing that Ella and Alexander did not make many visits to the Jay Kelly set. “I’m not quite sure what they would think about it. I don’t want them to think we’re too pampered.”
George and Amal, who wed in Venice in 2014, are generally very private when it comes to Ella and Alexander. But in June, George shared a few details about the pop culture icons that they’re loving — and who they’re not quite familiar with — right now.

“They want to see Taylor Swift,” he told E! News, adding, “The funniest part is that they have no idea of references. Robert DeNiro will be at the house and they’re like ‘Who’s that?’ They don’t care.”
While speaking exclusively with PEOPLE on the Jay Kelly red carpet, George cheekily explained how he is different from his character in the film, a washed-up actor who doesn’t have any friends or family to rely on.
“He surrounded himself with people that he paid,” George told PEOPLE of the character, adding, “And I’ve been very lucky to not have to do that.”
“I’ve been very lucky to have great family and great friends, and my kids actually like me still,” he said jokingly, “They’re young.”
