Tom Holland Breaks His Silence on Engagement to Zendaya with 1 Perfect Word

Tom Holland wants to make it clear that he put a ring on it! 

The 29-year-old Spider-Man actor sweetly corrected a reporter during a recent panel event when the man referenced Zendaya as being Holland’s girlfriend. 

In the clip circulating on X, the off-camera reporter can be heard saying, “I brought my daughter and she got to meet your girlfriend.”

Tom laughs and replies, “Fiancée.” 

This seemingly marks the first time Tom has publicly spoken about his engagement to his 29-year-old Marvel costar since the news broke in January that the longtime couple would be heading down the aisle. 

Shortly after, Tom’s father, Dominic Holland, confirmed the engagement in a Patreon post, sharing a few details in the process. 

“Tom, as you know by now, was very incredibly well prepared,” Dominic wrote. “He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter. Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.”

As was previously reported, Tom popped the question between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays in late 2024. Since she accepted his proposal, Zendaya has taken the opportunity to flash her engagement ring on several occasions.

Though their romance was rumored for years, the couple didn’t confirm anything until 2021. They have opted to keep their love story mostly private.

The same seems to be true for their wedding plans, as Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, shared with Complex in May. 

“She and Tom are super private about their relationship. They’re trying to be as private as possible. There won’t be a Vogue spread or there won’t be pictures of the wedding and the people who she will invite will be really respectful of their privacy, so it will be a really beautiful dress that no one gets to see,” Roach said at the time. 

And the two stars appear to be taking their time with the wedding planning. Back in July, Roach, 47, told E! News the “process hasn’t een started yet.”

“Zendaya is working on so many movies,” he explained. “She’s now filming the next iteration of Dune, so she’s away doing that. It’s so many movies, so we have time. We have a lot of time.”

But that’s not stopping Zendaya from showing off her stunning engagement ring from Tom. In fact, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, she stepped out at the Louis Vuitton Womenswear Spring/Summer 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week, showcasing her sparkler in a matching silver minidress.
