D’Angelo Russell Announces Engagement to Longtime Girlfriend Laura Ivaniukas

D’Angelo Russell and his longtime girlfriend, Laura Ivaniukas, are engaged.

The 29-year-old Dallas Mavericks point guard and Ivaniukas announced the their engagement via social media with several photos from the sweet, beachside moment last week. 

“Ms to Mrs.. Loading♾️,” Ivaniukas captioned a Wednesday, Sept. 24 joint Instagram carousel in which she also tagged the NBA player, who is heading into his 10th season in the league.

In the first photo, the model can be seen leaping into Russell’s arms for a kiss as sparklers blaze in the background. Surrounded by red roses, Ivaniukas’s diamond ring was on full display as she hugged her new fiancé.

Other images showed the couple, who began dating in 2020, posing beside each other while also standing in front of a large, heart-shaped floral arrangement as the sun set behind them on the white sand beach. 

Russell sipped alcohol straight from the bottle and Ivaniukas triumphantly held up her ring for the celebratory photo op. 

Ivaniukas welcomed her first son, Riley Jonas, with Russell on Sept. 24, 2022. The couple later became parents to daughter Mila-Rose on Aug. 9, 2024. Both kids were captured in the professional engagement photoshoot. 

Russell and his fiancée met in New York City during New York Fashion Week. They went Instagram official in 2020, when Ivaniukas shared photos of the couple vacationing together on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky.

Roughly one month before announcing their engagement, Ivaniukas posted several family photos of herself with the professional basketball player and their two children. 

“my everything,” the mom and model captioned an Aug. 17 set of photos, adding a single, white heart emoji. 

Before becoming a parent, Ivaniukas collaborated with fitness expert Bryan Chang in January 2021 when she announced the launch of her Project Y fitness challenge.

“Soo excited to finally bring this to you guys, after weeks of putting our all into this challenge it’s finally timeeee!!” she penned on Instagram at the time. “Let’s put 2020 behind us, focus on our health & get fit together!!”

As for Russell, he’s gearing up to play his first season with the Dallas Mavericks. On Sept. 24, ESPN reported that Russell had signed a two-year, $13 million contract with the organization in June.

Russell played college basketball at Ohio State University and was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2015. After playing with the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves, he returned to the Lakers for the 2023-24 season. The Lakers traded him to the Nets in January, and he spent the rest of the 2024-25 season in Brooklyn.
