Demi Lovato’s Sister Madison De La Garza Honors Daughter One Year After Death

Demi Lovato‘s sister is honoring her late daughter on what would have been her first birthday.

On Monday, Sept. 29, the It’s Not That Deep artist’s sister Madison De La Garza, 23, paid tribute to her late daughter Xiomara one year after her death. De La Garza shared a snap of herself sitting near her daughter’s final resting place on Instagram, wishing her “sweet baby” a happy heavenly birthday.

“Happy heavenly 1st birthday my angel,” she began in the caption. “Mommy and daddy love you sweet baby Xiomara 🤍.”

In the comment section, Lovato, 33, shared her support for her sister and wished her “sweet angel” niece a happy birthday. The Camp Rock alum wrote, “i love u so much.. u r so strong and xo is always with u. happy birthday sweet angel 🖤.”

On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, De La Garza first shared the news that her and boyfriend Ryan Mitchell’s first child died after she underwent an emergency C-section in September that year.

“On the evening of September 27th, after an emergency c-section, Ryan and I held our little girl for the first and last time,” the then 22-year-old wrote in the post. “Thank you, Xiomara, for making us parents to the most perfect angel in heaven. Mommy and Daddy love you sweet girl.”

Lovato and some of the sisters’ other family members sent their love and support to the actress, who first announced that she and Mitchell were expecting a baby together in September.

In a comment on De La Garza’s post, the Camp Rock star wrote: “I love you so much Xiomara. An angel in every sense of the word. I’ll be your auntie forever. 💔.”

Additionally, in an Instagram Stories post, Lovato added, “RIP to my beautiful, perfect niece Xiomara. I’m so grateful I got to hold you. I’lI forever be your auntie.” She tagged De La Garza and wrote to her: “I love you so much.”

De La Garza shared a photo on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, April 22, as she debuted a tattoo in honor of her baby girl.

She posted a photo of her hand, which had a handwritten “XO” tattooed on her palm. In between the X and the O, a tiny heart rested near the top of the letters. “For my baby girl,” she wrote over the image.
