Holly Robinson Peete and husband Rodney Peete have been together for 30 years, but she’s skeptical they would’ve lasted that long had they met on Kings Court.

When asked if she would’ve chosen her husband if they met on a show like Bravo’s Kings Court at the 7th Daytime Beauty Awards in Los Angeles on Sept. 21, the show host tells PEOPLE: “Absolutely not.”

Holly, 61, added that if they had met in this day and age, with social media playing a role, she doesn’t “think we would’ve made it this far just because it’s just so hard to.”

“In the social media age of swiping and all that, I think that we would’ve struggled,” Holly admitted. “I met Rodney during a time before social media, and I think that would’ve been a huge roadblock for us.”

Holly explained that social media makes it a lot easier to see someone’s location and that wouldn’t have been good for her.

“First of all, I’m nosy,” she admitted. “I would’ve known everywhere he was because everything’s got a little location.”

Nowadays, Holly said she “always know[s] where he is,” as well as the whereabouts of their four kids — twins Ryan and Rodney Jr, 27, Robinson, 22 and Roman, 20.

“I don’t abuse the privilege, but if I had had a location on him when we were dating and he was out there, that wouldn’t have been good,” she added. “So I think that not having that was a big favor for us.”

The couple, who co-host Kings Court and Queens Court, recently celebrated 30 years of marriage on June 10. Holly shared that being on the show taught her the importance of listening in a decades-long relationship.

“In the third season, you take things for granted,” Holly said. “I’m really trying to listen more to my husband, to not always have to be right, because that’s something that I try to be all the time.”

“And at the end of the day, just being thankful and grateful for the relationship that I have and how far we’ve been able to come,” she added.

Outside of hosting the Bravo series, the family has starred in reality shows For Peete’s Sake and Meet the Peetes. Because their kids are all adults and out of the house now, Holly also spoke about how she and Rodney are managing empty-nester life.

“Everybody’s doing different things. One is a junior at USC. The other one lives in Tokyo, is at Temple University there. And then my oldest is working for the Dodgers. He’s killing it. His twin sister is finding her way in music, and it’s really awesome,” she said. “We’re definitely empty-nesters, but more on paper than anything else.”

“Because they never really leave the nest and they still need us so they reach out,” she added. “But yeah, we’re enjoying the quiet time. But we don’t have kids to do stuff for us anymore. It’s like, who took out the trash last night? Oh, it’s just us. We used to have kids to boss around, and now it’s like, it’s just us. ‘Did you take out the trash?’ ‘No. Did you?’ And then realize, oh, everybody’s gone. So emptying the dog and taking care of our dogs, we just have to reinvest in the fact that we’re alone now and it’s on us.”
