What Happened to The Try Guys?
The Try Guys were founded in 2014 as part of a BuzzFeed web series. The original group of four consisted of Ned Fulmer, Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld and Eugene Lee Yang. Some of their most popular videos showed them going to the chiropractor for the first time, trying to bake a pie without a recipe and attempting to eat 400 dumplings in one sitting, all of which racked up tens of millions of views.
In 2018, the Try Guys announced they had left BuzzFeed and started their own independent production company, 2nd Try LLC. At the height of their company, they had two dozen employees.
However, in September 2022, the fan-favorite group rocked the internet after it was revealed that Fulmer, 38, who had cultivated a “wife guy” persona, admitted to having an extramarital affair with one of the company’s employees.
After the news broke, the remaining Try Guys members — Habersberger, Kornfeld and Yang — announced that Fulmer was “no longer working” for the company. They also edited Fulmer out of their future videos. Time magazine deemed it one of its “most viral moments” of 2022, and the Saturday Night Live cast even parodied it.

As one of the original Try Guys members, Fulmer shook up the group and the fanbase when his affair was unearthed. At the time, he had been married to his now-estranged wife, Ariel, for over a decade. The pair share two young children.
In a now-deleted statement, Fulmer admitted the affair was “a consensual workplace relationship.” As a result, he took a step back from the public eye.
Three years later, in his first interview since the scandal, Fulmer broke his silence while speaking to PEOPLE.
“For a long time, I wanted nothing to do with social media or the internet,” he admitted. “I didn’t think it was particularly beneficial to my mental health.”
However, after a few years away from the spotlight, Fulmer launched his podcast, Rock Bottom, where he interviews “anyone who’s overcome something challenging” about their lowest moments, he told PEOPLE.
His first guest was his wife, Ariel, who didn’t mince words about where they stand.
“People ask me, ‘Do you forgive Ned for what he did?'” she said on the podcast. “And the answer is no. Absolutely not. How can you forgive somebody for lying to you? For cheating on you? No. F— no.”
The pair revealed on the episode that they are separated but “not focused” on getting divorced.

Habersberger is one of the founding members of the Try Guys and, as of 2025, one of two original members that is still actively making videos for the group.
Habersberger got married to his wife, Becky Habersberger, in 2017, and, six years later, they announced that they welcomed a son.
In 2019, he released a “not too hot” hot sauce, which sold out in two days. He now also has a line of other sauces.
Keith has been part of the comedy music group Lewberger since 2016 alongside comedians Hughie Stone Fish and Alex Lewis. The group, which has 350,000 YouTube subscribers on its own, has toured several times, even appearing on America’s Got Talent in 2021.
In September 2025, Keith and Kornfeld announced a new YouTube channel aptly named Try Every Day, where they post videos about trying something new every day for the entire month.

Kornfeld is one of the founding Try Guys members and, like Habersberger, still contributes to the group.
In December 2018, Kornfeld announced he had been in a relationship with Margaret “Maggie” Bustamante, a pediatric nurse, for two years. They announced their engagement in 2020 and got married in 2023.
In 2024, Kornfeld and Habersberger announced the creation of 2nd Try, their newly developed subscription-based service.
The goal, Kornfeld said at the time, was to allow both the group and the viewers “to be directly connected with nothing in the way” to produce the kind of content they believe viewers truly want to see.
Along with making videos for the original channel, Kornfeld and Habersberger also create content for their Try Every Day subchannel.

Eugene Lee Yang was a founding member of the Try Guys. The comedian used the channel as a platform to come out as gay in June 2019, in a video titled “I’m Gay.” The powerful and cinematic video, which he wrote and choreographed, got over 20 million views.
Yang, a proud dog dad, has been in a relationship with Matthew McLean for over a decade.
In 2023, Yang voiced one of the main characters in the animated fantasy film Nimona.
In May 2024, the group announced Yang’s departure from the Try Guys in a Rolling Stone interview, calling it “bittersweet” at the time.
“We’re gonna miss working with Eugene. He has been one of the true collaborators of both of our lives. But we’ve had a long time to process this,” Kornfeld told the outlet, which reported that Yang was leaving after the end of the year to pursue other projects.
Habersberger added, “Eugene leaving is something that is sort of necessary for us to keep moving forward.”
“Things change. THE TRY GUYS ’ original cast already came to an end once, but now it’s sort of getting a better finite ending,” he added, referencing the previous departure of Fulmer in 2022.
Yang still retains his co-ownership of the company. Moving away from YouTube, Yang has his sights set on expanding his talents as a writer, director and storyteller.
