Mark Consuelos Pleads to David Beckham to ‘Let Me Win’ Sexiest Man Alive Poll

Mark Consuelos is despairing over his chances at claiming back-to-back titles during PEOPLE’s 2025 Sexiest Man Alive season.

On a Sept. 26 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the talk show host, 54, reacted to the competition in his category of Sexiest Football Club Owner in our annual Readers’ Choice Poll. The owner of Campobasso FC, who won Sexiest Talk Show Host in our Readers’ Choice poll last year, faces Tom Brady (Birmingham City F.C.), Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac (Wrexham A.F.C.) and David Beckham (Inter Miami CF).

When his wife and co-host Kelly Ripa read out the final nominee, Beckham, 50, Consuelos conceded, “Bye bye, Marky Mark.”

Ripa, 54, quipped, “We finally found somebody who could knock Mark off his pompous podium of constantly winning.”

The father of three proposed that they could leverage their talk show platform to boost him to the win, but Ripa countered, “Beckham doesn’t have to talk, as far as I’m concerned.”

Consuelos then pleads to the retired soccer star, “David! Let me win this one. David! Becks!”

But even he knows it may be a long shot: “If I’m going to lose to anybody, it’s gotta be David Beckham.”

Later in the show, the two brought on fellow talk show host (and former Sexiest Talk Show Host rival) Jimmy Fallon and chatted about Consuelos’ category.

“There’s no question, you got this. This is your win. Beckham?” Fallon, 51, said, dismissing the soccer star with a wave. “Out of respect to the competition, Beckham should bow out.”

The ex-foes plotted to team up, with Consuelos asking Fallon if he can use his writing team to create an anti-Beckham campaign ad.

“He’s got enough awards. What does he want?” Fallon said. “We’ll talk to [his wife] Victoria.”

Ripa added, “He’s married to Victoria, for God’s sakes. What more does this man want?”

Last year, the competition got heated between Consuelos and The Tonight Show host, who ran a smear campaign ad against his competition. Even though Consuelos and his family threw their support behind Fallon, the Live with Kelly and Mark host prevailed in the polls.

On their faux beef, Consuelos revealed the pair exchanged “tons of texts” about Fallon’s “hatchet job.”

After his victory, Ripa asked her husband if he felt “sexier” with his new title.

“No. I feel exactly the same … once you become a dad, you don’t really … you see yourself through your kids eyes, and that’s when the sexy just goes away, I think,” he answered.
