Sherri Shepherd is getting candid about a recent beauty mishap.
The comedian opened up about an encounter at a Doug E. Fresh concert during the Thursday, Sept. 25 episode of her namesake talk show, revealing that her lace-front wig lifted up when she was formally introduced to the rapper.
“I went to see the one, the only, Doug E. Fresh,” she told the audience, explaining that she enjoyed his set so much that she worked up a sweat. “I’m dancing all night, I’m sweating my face off, and at the end of the night, his people said, ‘Doug E. would like to meet you.’ So I go back and say hello to him and a bunch of other people.”
“We took pictures, I get back to my hotel room and I look at the picture and I notice that the lace on my wig had lifted up,” she continued, adding a picture of the wig lifting away from her scalp. The comedian even included a video of herself after she got back to the hotel, removing the wig from her head with minimal effort because of the lack of glue.

Shepherd hilariously likened the wig malfunction to a broken door at her grandmother’s house.
“You know how your grandmom would always have that old screen door that was always broken? And you stuck your fingers in that old screen door, it would cut you? That’s what my wig looks like, she joked. “I could lift the wig right up off of my doggone head. I don’t know at what part of the night the wig started lifting up. Nobody said anything to me. Not one.”
During their meeting, the actress even thought that the musician might even be romantically interested because he couldn’t take his eyes off her.

“He was looking at me so attentively when we were talking, I thought Doug E. Fresh was mesmerized by me. The whole time I was talking to him, he was talking to me, he was talking to my wig,” she added. “It turns out Doug E. Fresh was in no way trying to holla at me. He was making sure my wig didn’t holla back.”
