d4vd Vacates L.A. Home Where Police Served Search Warrant After Teen Girl Found Dead in His Tesla: Report
NEED TO KNOW
- Singer d4vd and his manager reportedly left the Los Angeles home where they were staying shortly after homicide detectives served a search warrant at the home, per SFGATE
- The search warrant was served as part of the investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a teenage girl who was reported missing last year and found dead in the trunk of the 20-year-old singer’s Tesla on Sept. 8
- d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has not been named a suspect by police
A few days after Los Angeles homicide detectives searched the home where singer d4vd had been staying — in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez — he and his manager moved out, according to a new report.
An LAPD spokesperson told PEOPLE on Sept. 18 that “several items of evidence were recovered” and that investigators are following up on “several leads.” The Hollywood Hills rental home was associated with the 20-year-old musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, law enforcement sources previously told KABC-TV and the Los Angeles Times.
The “Romantic Homicide” singer had been staying there with his manager, but the two moved out days after electronics and more were seized from the home, the property’s landlord told SFGate in a report published on Sept. 25.
The homeowner, Malden Trifunovic, said the “news came as a complete surprise” and that he “did not know D4vd, nor was I aware that he was living in the house,” the outlet reported.
Rivas was found dead in an impounded Tesla registered to d4vd on Sept. 8 — shortly after her 15th birthday while the singer was on tour in the U.S. Investigators believe she had been dead for some time; the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office told SFGate the girl’s remains were “severely decomposed.”
Her cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said Rivas had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore, Calif., at least three times in 2024, according to the Los Angeles Times — and residents claimed she had run away from home before, though her last known whereabouts remain unclear.
“I recognized her because of her big, curly hair,” neighbor Kayleigh Cortez told theTimes at a candlelit vigil held for the teen last weekend in her hometown, adding that she would see the teen “walking with her backpack on her way to school.”
Rivas was also remembered by loved ones on a GoFundMe campaign as a “beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.” The fundraiser, which has been verified by PEOPLE, states her funeral service is set for Oct. 5.

While authorities have not shared information about any connection d4vd and Rivas may have had, the two do have seemingly matching tattoos. The medical examiner identified Rivas as having a tattoo that read “Shhh…” on her right index finger, per the L.A. Times, while d4vd was seen sporting a similar tattoo on his right index finger in a Sept. 2024 photo.
The singer has not spoken out publicly, and his rep told NBC Los Angeles shortly after the discovery that he was “fully cooperating with the authorities.” Police have not deemed him a suspect or filed any charges against him as of Sept. 26.
d4vd’s rep has not responded to multiple requests for comment from PEOPLE.
