Sydney Sweeney Is ‘Having Fun’ Dating Scooter Braun (Exclusive Source)

Sydney Sweeney is enjoying spending time with Scooter Braun.

“She’s having fun with Scooter and enjoys dating him,” a source close to the Euphoria actress, 28, tells PEOPLE, more than three weeks after PEOPLE first reported that the pair are “casually” dating.

According to the source, Sweeney “had a great time celebrating her birthday with” Braun, the 44-year-old record executive and Justin Bieber’s former manager. Sweeney turned 28 on Sept. 12.

“He’s easy to be around and an intriguing guy,” the source adds of Braun. “[Sweeney] is back to work now though. She feels very blessed to have such an amazing career. She’s very focused and super hard working.”

On Sept 2, a source told PEOPLE that Sweeney and Braun were “casually hooking up,” noting that the Anyone But You actress and Braun were both guests at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Venice, Italy back in June.

Later, other sources told PEOPLE that Sweeney and Braun spent Labor Day weekend together at Lake Tahoe along the California-Nevada border, and that the pair had “something going on already” when they attended Bezos and Sanchez’s wedding. “They hung out in Italy for the Bezos wedding,” one insider said at the time. “Syd was intrigued — Scooter’s a charmer. He’s confident, but also sweet and very attentive.”

“He’s not really her type, but she enjoyed the attention,” that source added.

Sweeney broke off her engagement to Jonathan Davino, 42, in March after the former couple spent some seven years together. Braun, meanwhile, was married to Yael Cohen from 2014 until they separated in 2021 and divorced in 2022. The former couple shares three children: sons Jagger, 10, and Levi, 8, plus daughter Hart, 6.

As an insider told PEOPLE on Sept. 3, Sweeney is “not looking to get wrapped up in another relationship” at the moment, despite spending time with Braun in recent weeks. “She’s been clear about her goals for this year — it’s all about her career,” that source said. “She’s ambitious and very focused. She wants to make the most of every work opportunity that comes her way.”

Sweeney’s upcoming movie projects include the boxing biopic Christy, in theaters Nov. 7, and The Housemaid, which releases Dec. 19.
