A 28-year-old woman revealed how her teenage disappearance had a happy ending.
Roro Nicole shared in a now-viral TikTok video how she disappeared from her “abusive” home when she was 13 years old. “I had to get away,” she said in the clip, explaining that her dad had “threatened to kill” her and her siblings.
Once she “escaped,” Nicole explained that her parents “freaked out” and called the cops. But police were unable to find Nicole that night as she hid out. “I knew the officers had no idea what was going on at home,” she added. “I was scared that I was going to be made to go back home so I found me a safe place to go.”

In a subsequent TikTok, Nicole explained that when she was eventually found, she was placed into the foster system, where she remained until the age of 18.

Several years later, she began working at her local sheriff’s office, where she met an officer named Tyler who “kept staring” at her. Towards the end of her time at the job, she said the “nervous” officer approached and struck up a conversation.

“From there, we became friends and started hanging out, talking on the regular,” Nicole recalled.
It was during one of those conversations that she “opened up” to him about running away from home as a teenager. When she shared some more details about the timeframe and location of the incident, something clicked for the officer.
“He said, ‘I was searching for you,’ ” explaining that he’d lived nearby at the time.
“He was so surprised and didn’t know what to think,” she added. “The whole situation was shocking to both of us, but I thought it was pretty cool.”
Nicole went on to explain that she and Tyler started dating and got engaged seven months later, flashing a beautiful square-cut ring to the camera with a smile. The engaged couple is still working together at the same police department.
Defending their 10-year age gap, Nicole insisted it’s “normal.”
Back in August 2024, Nicole shared the happy news of her and Tyler’s engagement with her 1,000 Instagram followers. Posting a carousel of snaps of herself and her fiancé in a beautiful beach location, showed off her ring.

She captioned the vacation snaps, “My hand feels heavier today… I wonder why. Oh, that’s right… We’re engaged!!!”
In a gushing post in October of that year, Nicole paid tribute to her “life partner” Tyler, writing, “Thank you for giving me the love that I never thought I deserved, but that I cannot live without.”
