NEED TO KNOW

  • Baked by Melissa is releasing a limited-edition Taylor Swift-inspired cupcake pack
  • The teal and orange treats match the album art for The Life of a Showgirl
  • The design details are packed with references to the pop superstar

Baked by Melissa is celebrating the highly anticipated release of Taylor Swift’s new album with a colorful collection of cupcakes.

The limited-edition Showgirl Cupcakes 12-Pack will be available while supplies last starting Friday, Sept. 26, just a week before the pop superstar’s 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl lands on Oct. 3.

Each pack includes treats with two flavor profiles and color themes. One has teal vanilla cake and icing, while the other variety has orange vanilla cake and icing. Both are topped with white chocolate, gold sugar crystal brittle.

Naturally, the confections’ packaging includes plenty of Easter eggs to delight Swifties.

The design details include 13 stars —  a reference to the “Karma” singer’s favorite number — and an image of a lock similar to those associated with the album countdown on Swift’s website.

A disco ball symbolizes the “bangers” on the album that Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, recently promised on his New Heights podcast, while also nodding to the Folklore track “Mirrorball.”

And a diamond commemorates the couple’s August engagement news, when they announced, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

The dozen cupcakes in the pack, of course, represent the 12 songs on the album.

The 12-packs will be priced at $19, with a bundle of two for $38, and can be ordered online at BakedbyMelissa.com and in-store.

And for those who want to save the cupcakes to serve at an album listening party, they’ll stay fresh for up to two weeks if frozen when purchased.

That’s not the only recent food release geared toward fans of Swift.

Pillsbury is launching a new Funfetti Sourdough Bread Mix, after the “Lover” singer talked about experimenting with her own version.

On the Aug. 13 episode of the New Heights podcast, Swift, 35, opened up about her interest in making sourdough bread and revealed that she’d been working on something special for Travis’ brother Jason Kelce‘s daughters.

“There’s a blueberry lemon,” she said. “There’s cinnamon swirl, cinnamon raisin, and this one I’ve been workshopping for the girls because they love everything rainbow — Funfetti sourdough.”

Jason excitedly replied, “Oh my gosh. That’s gonna blow their mind.”

Swift quickly added, “No. It will because they love sprinkles. Like, we put, you know, we put sprinkles in everything when we hang out.”

Further expanding on her baking habit, Swift said it frequently fills her thoughts.

“The sourdough’s taken over my life in a huge way. I’m really talking about bread 60 percent of the time now,” she said.
