Billie Eilish Reacts to Brother Finneas’ Engagement to Claudia Sulewski

Billie Eilish is celebrating her brother Finneas O’Connell‘s engagement.

After O’Connell — who makes music under the name FINNEAS — and his longtime partner Claudia Sulewski announced the news, Eilish weighed in on the engagement on Instagram.

The singer-songwriter’s sister reposted the couple’s announcement — which included a set of gleeful photos from the picturesque sunset proposal, plus Sulewski’s new cushion-cut diamond ring — and reacted with the crying emoji and two red hearts.

Along with reposting the announcement, Eilish also shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call with the happy couple. In the slightly blurry snap, Eilish can be seen reacting with a gasp as Sulewski shows off her new engagement ring with a huge smile on her face. Eilish captioned the screenshot with three heart hands emojis.

O’Connell and Sulewski have been together since 2018, when they met on a dating app. Sulewski — a host, actress and CYKLAR skincare founder — soon became a source of inspiration for the musician.

One year after they got together, O’Connell revealed his song “Claudia,” which he wrote just hours after meeting Sulewski, he told BuzzFeed. In the interview, the artist also admitted he sent her parts of the tune the very same night.

Sulewski has also collaborated with Finneas on creative projects, namely the music video for his 2022 song “Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa.” Sulewski directed and starred in the song’s music video, which featured the now-engaged couple sharing sweet moments together in Paris.

“It’s a gushy video, for sure!” Sulewski told Vogue at the time. “We’re pretty deep in it at this point — we’ve been dating for almost four years, so I think the cat’s out of the bag.”

Sulewski most recently directed Finneas’s “2001” music video, which featured Kate Hudson. In a reply to Sulewski’s post about the finished product, Finneas gushed over his partner.

“My hero!!!” he wrote in a comment. “Music video about falling in love with your director, made by the director I’m in love with! It’s meta!!!”
