Meghan Markle had some beautiful backyard inspiration when it came to creating her As ever brand.

On Wednesday, Sept. 24, the As ever Instagram page shared a shot of Meghan and her dogs — black lab Pula and beagle Mia — looking out over their backyard in Montecito, California.

“Crisp air, blue skies, and the sweetest moments 🍃,” As ever captioned the shot.

The photo featured two palm trees that connect at their base, which is a meaningful symbol for Meghan. In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan shared how the trees caught the eye of her husband, Prince Harry, when they first toured the house.

“One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” she said. “See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’ ”

“And now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa,’ ” Meghan added of their son Prince Archie, now 6.

Meghan made a palm tree the centerpiece of the As ever crest while designing the brand’s logo. The tree is flanked by two hummingbirds, which is also a meaningful symbol for Harry.

In his 2023 memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex, 41, shared an anecdote about finding a hummingbird in his house after the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. He reflected on how the bird is interpreted as a symbol of spirits in some cultures.

“I had a devil of a time guiding it out, and the thought occurred that maybe we should start shutting the doors, despite those heavenly ocean breezes,” he wrote. “Then a mate said: Could be a sign, you know? … Visitors, as it were. Aztecs thought them reincarnated warriors. Spanish explorers called them ‘resurrection birds.’ ”

Harry wrote that he looked more closely at the hummingbird as it flew around the kitchen and over the playpen “we call Lili Land” set up for his daughter, Princess Lilibet, now 4.

“I thought hopefully, greedily, foolishly: Is our house a detour — or a destination?” he said of the sighting.

This new photo isn’t Mia’s first time modeling with Meghan for As ever. In March, the pup crashed a backyard photoshoot for the brand’s first launch, with Meghan sharing a behind-the-scenes pic of the rescue beagle as she showcased the picturesque products.

The dog, whose full name is “Mamma Mia,” was adopted by Meghan and Prince Harry in 2022. She was rescued from a breeding and research lab in Virginia by the Beagle Freedom Project, to whom Meghan reached out personally about adopting an older dog.

“The duchess is holding Mia and was like, ‘We’re adopting her,'” Shannon Keith, a volunteer with the organization, told the L.A. Times. “She was like ‘No, we don’t want a Christmas puppy…we want ones we can help who are older.’ ”

Mia became the couple’s third dog at the time, alongside Pula and Meghan’s previous rescue beagle, Guy, who died in January 2025.
