Cat and Lizard Have a ‘Freaky Friday Moment’ in Surprising Video

Life at Autumn’s home can get a bit wild.

The Knoxville, Tenn. resident, 41, is the pet parent to four animals: a 1-year-old cat named Tsunami, a 2-year-old cat named Ember, a 3-year-old dog named Stitch, and a 4-year-old bearded dragon named Matilda.

The critter crew gets along, with the cats even cuddling Matilda the lizard from time to time, but they still make mischief, especially Tsunami.

Tsunami was a 4-month-old kitten known for “doing biscuits in her sleep” at Young Williams Animal Shelter in Knoxville when Autumn adopted the cat.

“Once she was awake, she was wild and playful, hence the name. Never a dull moment with that cat,” the pet mom tells PEOPLE of the black and white feline.

One of Tsunami’s favorite hobbies is stealing her dog sibling’s bed.

“Tsunami is a wild and crazy cat who sometimes thinks she is a dog. She loves to steal food off your plate, get into anything she can, and steal the dog bed,” Autumn adds.

Now, it appears Tsunami has moved on to stealing Matildia’s hangout spot. Recently, Autumn entered the room in her home, which contains Matilda’s heated habitat, and found Tsunami casually sitting in the middle of the lizard’s terrarium.

Maltilda, evicted from her home by the feline, decided to take up residence in the cat bed affixed to the window by her tank.

“I guess they were having a Freaky Friday moment,” Autumn says of the amusing incident.

The pet parent shared video evidence of the switcheroo on TikTok (@autmuns_zoo24), where the clip went viral, amassing over 1 million views.

The footage begins with Tsunami blissfully rolling around in the sand of Matilda’s habitat, enjoying the heat lamp. Then, the camera pans to show Matilda in the cat bed staring out the sunny window, before bouncing between the two animals.

“It was super cute and funny. I just had to share. I did not realize it would go viral,” Autumn says of the video.

The pet parent notes that the clip shows one of the first times that Tsunami snuck into the lizard tank, but now it’s an “every day thing” for the cat to jump into the habitat, “the minute I open the door.”

Maltilda doesn’t mind sharing her space with Tsunami, but she is particular about other things.

“Matilda is your average lazy lizard. She loves to bask in the sun or her lamp, and she loves a good 20-minute shower. She has a picky palate and will only eat mealworms that move around a lot, and kale,” Autumn explains.

Autumn documents the life of all her pets on TikTok in hopes of sharing “smiles and laughter online.”
