Dallas ICE Facility Shooting Leaves 2 Detainees Dead, 1 Injured

Two detainees at an ICE field office in Dallas were killed and another was wounded after a gunman opened fire at the facility from an adjacent building.

The Dallas Police Department said that one person was killed in the shooting while another two individuals were taken to the hospital. NBC News subsequently reported that a second detainee had died.

“The preliminary investigation determined that a suspect opened fire at a government building from an adjacent building,” police said.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a post on X that the shooter was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Noem also noted that the motive for the shooting was not yet known.

The shooter used a sniper rifle and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound as law enforcement approached him, Fox 4 reported.
