2 Stars Get Sent Home

When it came time for the double elimination, viewers first learned that Danielle, Dylan, Elaine, Scott, Jen, Robert, Jordan, Lauren, Alix, Whitney and Andy were amongst the stars safe.

Based on judges scores and viewers votes, Hilaria, Corey and Baron were the last three couples standing.

Ultimately, Corey and Baron were sent home.

In his final message to fans, Baron said he had “wanted to” win for his dance partner Britt Stewart. “I haven’t been coached in a while, so to get off my butt was awesome,” he said.

Corey similarly said he had wanted to win for partner Jenna Johnson.“I feel really terrible because she deserved better,” Corey said, as Jenna shook her head no. “She deserves to be the champ every year in my book.”

‘Blue’ Them Away

This week, Scott and Rylee Arnold practiced the Cha Cha to “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65. Scott said the 1999 song reminded him of childhood.

After being towards the bottom of the leaderboard in the premiere, he said was ready to blow the judges away.

They brought head-to-toe blue looks to their techno-forward performance and made gains from last week.

Bruno said he got “better” with timing and consistency. Carrie Ann wants to see him “take up more space” but said he improved from last week. Derek’s one word reaction? “Blue.”

Rylee praised Scott’s dedication while speaking to Julianne, saying he practices all the time.

Hips Don’t Lie

Dylan’s partner Daniella Karagach explained to him they’ll be performing the Samba to “Macarena (Bayside Boys Remix)” by Los del Río. Dylan said he was so excited because that’s the first “chore-o-graphy” he ever learned. Daniella corrected him on the pronunciation (“choreography”) and told him the importance of keeping the balance of the dance.

“I see why it’s one of the most challenging dances of the show,” said Dylan. “I feel like I’m walking like an antelope.”

He showed off some of the moves he practiced on social media to kick off the performance — and included a few subtle touches of the iconic ’90s dance.

Carrie Ann said he had “expert level” hips and praised that he’s learning the technique to his “thrusts.” Derek called his moves “impressive” but wants to see “more strength.” Bruno’s one word (well, more like three): “Snake-hip-wonder!”

“My quads hurt,” Dylan told Julianne.

Hilaria Leaves It All on the Floor

Hilaria Baldwin called last week “a dream come true” and reflected on dancing in front of her kids and husband. “I’ve seen Alec [Baldwin] on a lot of sets, and that’s fun, but seeing them come and support me was an incredible gift.”

This week, her and partner Gleb Savchenko performed a Tango to “What Is Love” by Haddaway. While practicing the tough dance, she admitted she’s “exhausted” but she’s not giving in: “I’m gonna leave it all on the dance floor.”

While Alec wasn’t in the audience this week, her kids were cheering her on.

Derek praised her “amazing” Tango, while Bruno said it was a “wonderful blend of power and elegance with a hint of fun.” Carrie Ann’s one word? “Lift!”

Hilaria told Julianne as she waited for her results that she’s balancing it all (practicing and motherhood) with a “really good sense of humor.”

A Fiery Performance

Whitney Leavitt and partner Mark Ballas were at the top of the leaderboard last week after Bruno accidentally put in an 8. In her interview, Whitney said the love she’s getting from fans so far isn’t “what she’s used to” from viewers of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, where she’s known to be more of a “villain” on screen.

As they practiced, Mark said “as fun as the Cha Cha is, it’s fast.” Whitney added that the dance was already making her dizzy.

They put on a red-hot performance to “Play That Funky Music” by Wild Cherry and the judges agreed. Bruno said they’re definitely “not a one-hit wonder” with their “killer” Cha Cha. “So hot, I’m melting,” he said.

Carrie Ann said Whitney lit the ballroom on fire. Derek’s one word — or gesture — was a big clap.

Return to His Hometown

1 hr 9 min ago

The NBA star honored the year his one-hit wonder, “Return of the Mack” by Mark Morrison, came out in 1996, by traveling back to where he was around that time — in high school.

He and his partner Britt Stewart met his high school basketball coach, who Baron said was a father figure to him growing up.

Britt said being back on his home turf shows Baron anything is possible — even tackling a tricky Samba.

After their performance, Carrie Ann pointed out a mistake Baron made towards the end. “It’s hard for me to say… I want to see more of you,” Carrie Ann said. “I’m sorry, I’m at a loss. That was not eloquent. I’m sorry.” Derek told Britt “good job” and he congratulated the basketball star. Bruno’s one word critique was “smooth.”

Hey Elaine!

1 hr 18 min ago

After getting two 6’s at the premiere, Elaine said she was on “cloud nine.” This week, her and partner Alan Bersten worked on a Jive performance to “Hey Mickey” by Toni Basil.

During practice, Toni made a surprise appearance and told Elaine, “You have to be sassy to [Alan].”

They put on a full cheerleader-themed performance with their look, and after, Derek said he was “so impressed” with her work. Bruno said she “put the fun factor through the roof.” Carrie Ann’s one word was more of a scream, as she belted out a cheerleader shout.

When they got to Julianne to receive their scores, Elaine said the Jive wasn’t quite as easy as playing a cheerleader on screen, but she and Alan were both excited by the judges’ scores.

A Crikey Good Performance

1 hr 25 min ago

Robert Irwin called last week one of the “funnest nights” of his whole life. Going in to week two at the top of the leaderboard, partner Witney Carson explained to him they have a “bit of a target” on their back.

As they practiced their Tango to “Move Your Feet” by Junior Senior, Robert said he wasn’t even born yet when the song came out in 2002, but knows that was when his father Steve Irwin’s show Crocodile Hunter was at its height. “Every year I live, I actually feel closer to my dad,” he said.

Bruno praised their performance before critiquing a “gimmick” they threw into the choreography. Carrie Ann said his charisma is “off the charts.” Derek’s one word: “Crikey!”

Score: 22/30

Jen Takes on Week 2

1 hr 35 min ago

Jen opened her interview ahead of her dance by saying how thankful she’s been for the support she’s gotten from other moms. (She welcomed her third child just a few weeks ago in July.)

Ahead of their Quickstep to “Take On Me” by a-ha, partner Jan Ravnik admitted he’s a “little bit worried” because of how quick and technical this performance needed to be.

Jen noted the song meant a lot to her because it was the soundtrack to one of her most popular TikToks. As a nod to the connection, she kicked off the dance on a countertop (a signature move in her viral social media posts).

After snagging a hug from her child before heading to the judges, Carrie Ann critiqued some of her moves. Derek also had some tips to share about her technicality, but Bruno called her “twinkle toes.”

Score: 22/30

The Showman Shows Out

1 hr 44 min ago

As Corey Feldman entered week 2 at the bottom of the leaderboard, he admitted he was “confused” in his interview ahead of his dance.

Partner Jenna Johnson encouraged him “to be open” heading into their “intimidating” Cha Cha, and said she wanted to highlight his showmanship to help him avoid elimination — which he said would break his heart.

They kicked off their routine, set to “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-A-Lot, with a nod to the lyrics with Corey on his knees and lots of hip rolls.

Derek called his routine “memorable” while pointing out some technicalities, as Bruno called it “unforgettable.” Carrie Ann’s one word? “Committed.”

Score: 15/30

Ready to Cheese It Up

1 hr 54 min ago

Jordan said she’s ready to “cheese it up” for her Jive to “Maniac” by Michael Sembello in her interview ahead of the night. She also said she’s more than ready to take on the fast rhythm of the dance, thanks to her quick gymnastic floor routines.

Jordan and her partner Ezra Sosa kicked off their fast-paced routine at the top of the stairs, before Jordan leaped over him and went into a somersault, showing off her Olympic moves.

Bruno said she “came back stronger than ever” after taking in their critiques last week. Carrie Ann cheered her on screaming “yes” before comparing her to Tina Turner. Derek’s one word was, “content,” before adding: “Positive, by the way.”

When they got to Julianne, Jordan said she was excited to “bring out her personality more” this week.

Honoring Family with a Foxtrot

2 hr 4 min ago

Lauren said she’s “absolutely loving” the experience of being on DWTS and is honoring her grandmother (whom she used to watch the show with growing up) with her Foxtrot to “Lovefool” by The Cardigans.

Partner Brandon Armstrong said he’s leaning into her stage charisma to give them an extra push.

After their elegant routine, Carrie Ann said Lauren has a way of “drawing people in” and loved watching her partnership with Brandon. Derek compared her to a “willow tree” in a “breeze” and called her “an amazing dancer.” For Bruno’s one word, he went with, “classic.”

Score: 21/30

Andy Richter Makes It Rain

2 hr 12 min ago

Although he was at the bottom of the leaderboard last week, Andy is “really trying to own his steps,” partner Emma Slater said ahead of their Tango performance.

He admitted he was having stress dreams ahead of the premiere, but “the wires are turned on now.” Adding, he “really doesn’t want to go home.”

Emma opened their dance with a bit playing a weather reporter to play up their song, “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls, while it cut to Andy wearing a poncho.

“You truly captured the essence of why this show was created,” said Derek. While he critiqued a few moves, he “saw the joy” Andy brought. Bruno also praised their dance as “very, very entertaining.” Carrie Ann’s one-word response was “improve.”

Score: 16/30

Pushing Through the Pain

2 hr 23 min ago

Danielle has an extra sweet history with her song, “Rhythm of the Night” by Corona, because it came out the year she began on Boy Meets World in 1994. “My mom was driving me to work every day and we would just belt this song at the top of our lungs,” she said prior to the performance. “Every time I hear that song I think of my whole life changing.”

During their interview ahead of their Cha Cha performance, she revealed she has a hamstring tear that happened in practice. Then, after a deep tissue massage, she said it “broke every blood vessel” in the back of her leg. She assures fans she’s not letting it stop her. Instead, she’s “pushing through the pain.”

Bruno praised her dance for having the “right amount of spice to get me going” while pointing out a few technicalities she needs to improve. Carrie pointed out that she needs to breathe during her routine, while Derek got the one-word response to which he said, “Good.”

When the duo got to Julianne to receive their score, she asked how Danielle’s injury was feeling. “Adrenaline is pumping and thank god for body makeup,” Danielle said.

Alix Taps into Her Competitive Side

2 hr 33 min ago

Alix and her partner Val Chermansky danced to “Mambo No. 5” by Lou Bega. While Alix explained before the dance that she felt good that she was towards the top of the leaderboard last week, she said that also “unlocked this competitive side of me.”

On the ballroom floor, their dance started off with an electric start as Chermansky jumped over Alix, and finished with a dramatic bend from Alix.

When they went to see how their performance was received by the judges, Carrie Ann, who was absent last week, praised their routine. “Thank you for making that my first dance because that was incredible,” she said, adding, “You blew me away.”

They also impressed Derek who acknowledged it was a “difficult routine” but they did a “fanatic job” thanks to their “powerhouse partnership.”

When it came to Bruno’s reaction, Alfonso explained the third judge needs to answer with one word, in honor of the theme of the night. “Breakthrough,” is what Bruno chose.

Total score: 21/30

“Everybody Dance Now”

2 hr 33 min ago

The night kicked off with an energetic performance by the troupe dancers to the song “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” as the hosts entered to introduce each contestant.

“That’s gonna make you sweat,” Alfonso said of everyone’s individual intros. He also explained last week’s premiere was “the most watched entertainment show in America.” He then went to the leaderboard where Robert Irwin and his partner Whitney Carson were at the top.

Robert Irwin Gets Some Adorable Practice with His Niece

3 hr 21 min ago

Ahead of week two’s live show, the wildlife conservationist got in some extra prep time with help from his sister Bindi’s 4-year-old daughter, Grace.

In a clip shared to his Instagram on Saturday, Sept. 20, Robert can be seen talking Grace — the daughter of Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell — through a mini routine in the living room, featuring kicks, spins, jumps and hand-holding. “Did I do it?” Grace asks her uncle in the clip, before he responds with a laugh, “Yeah, that’s it.”

Eventually, as Grace begins to point her legs in unison with Robert, her mom, Bindi (who won season 21), can be heard sharing her approval in the background as Robert confirms, “We did it.”

“10s, all 10s,” he says. “Everybody else can go home now, Grace has won.”

In the caption of his post, Robert wrote that “Grace is making sure my dance training continues when I get home.”
