If I can avoid wearing pants with buttons, I usually will. I love the look of trousers, or jeans, but I have a very low tolerance for uncomfortable clothing. I was pleasantly surprised by just how cozy these pants are — they’re soft to the touch, offer the baggy look that is in style right now, and fit my short frame comfortably. I opted for a size 18 in the pants, but I definitely could’ve sized down, as they have a roomy fit. They had a hook closure that cinched my waist, too, making the pants look polished. 

I wore the trousers with the matching jacket, also on sale at Target, and a tank top I had in my closet, but I’m looking forward to dressing them down, too. I can wear these with a sweater, or even a T-shirt and a denim jacket, this fall.

I bought this sweater in a tan color four years ago, and while I was initially hesitant about its unique design, I look forward to wearing it every time the weather cools. It offers just enough warmth to feel cozy but doesn’t overheat me if the sun comes out during the afternoon. I’ve styled it over tank tops and T-shirts for more casual looks and layered it over dresses when I’m going to dinner or a work event. It’s by far my most complimented clothing item, and it looks like new, even though I’ve worn it for years.

These stretchy pants are my go-to for when I feel like wearing sweats, but want to look put together. The white stripe adds a stylish touch and a nice contrast to the black pants. I’ve worn these with a basic T-shirt to yoga class, a denim jacket while pumpkin picking, and even for a date night, with a collared shirt and cardigan. Plus, I didn’t need to hem them. I bought these in a size 14/16 and felt comfortable thanks to the elastic waist.

As far as I’m concerned, you can never have enough layers. That’s why I snagged this turtleneck tank top in black, cream, and brown a few years back. It’s an ideal piece for fall and winter because it’s soft, warm, and the high neck makes it look sophisticated. It’s made of a breathable rayon fabric that is easy to wear under jackets and thick sweaters.
