Motherhood looks good on Aly Michalka.
The Aly & AJ musician and actress, 36, welcomed her first child, son Jack, with husband Stephen Ringer in April 2024, and she’s since taken him around the world on tour with sister and bandmate AJ — where many of the 17-month-old kid’s milestone moments have occurred.
“He started walking at the Atlanta airport back in June, and that was a big one for us,” Aly tells PEOPLE shortly before embarking on her and AJ’s Silver Deliverer Tour, which kicked off in Los Angeles on Sept. 19.

No matter how significant, every moment is exciting for the new mom: “Now, it’s just seeing him do little activities, doing stuff in the yard, wanting to water plants or wanting to take [dog] Bixby on a walk by dragging his leash around, just sweet stuff like that that we’re trying to capture video and photos of so we can show him when he’s older and be, like, ‘Look at how cute you are. Look at how involved you are in our daily life.'”

Jack is no stranger to the road, but the Silver Deliverer Tour marks the longest time he’s spent living on a bus away from home. “We’re trying to accommodate as much as we possibly can,” says Aly ahead of the seven-week trek.
“I think, for us, it’s been just getting all the details in place and the things we need to pack for him that’ll keep him occupied and busy, and making sure that he feels like he’s getting our attention and focus when we’re not working,” she adds. “And then, when we are and we’re busy, that he is being entertained by the awesome new nanny that we’ve hired.”
AJ, 34, anticipates the tour being a “blast” with nephew Jack in tow. “It’s going to be difficult at times, but he’s so good,” she says.
“I just feel like we’re going to have a really fun time and make some really great memories,” continues AJ. “We’re lucky that we have our own bus with him, so we can kind of have the family bus in one area where he can just go nuts with toys and, hopefully, snuggle down into his bunk with Aly every night.”

Beyond spending time with his parents and aunt on the road, Jack will experience lots of live music. “He has really good rhythm,” says Aly, noting that he already “bops his head to pretty much all of” her and AJ’s songs.
“The ones that he seems to recognize the most are ‘What It Feels Like’ and ‘Dandelions,'” details AJ, naming two tracks from their Silver Deliverer album, released in May. “Hopefully, as soon as he starts talking, he’s singing our songs. That would be adorable.”
Aly & AJ’s new EP, More Silver, and tickets for the Silver Deliverer Tour are both available now.
