Taylor Swift knows “all too well” what her fans want for her next era.
The “Fortnight” singer, 35, is revealing what Swifties can expect from the release of her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl — including exclusive photocards and poems tied to the era — 13 days ahead of its Oct. 3 release.
In an Instagram video on Saturday, Sept. 20, the Grammy winner gushed about her “extraordinary” album photo shoot with Martin Marcus — and admitted she loved it so much that she released more photos than she initially intended.
“I just wanted the fans to have as many images from this sort of world this album era as possible,” Swift said in the video. “And so I really spent a lot of time figuring out how I could make the best vinyl product and the best packaging and the best CD experience that they could have.”
“So we’ve got — the CDs all have photo cards in them, the vinyls, they each have a poem inside of them, a unique poem,” she continued. “They’ve got more images than we ever planned to put in there.”
She also discussed the different details of the album, including its “high-gloss finish,” a design choice she’d “never done before” and one she thought was perfect for channeling the glitz and dazzle of a showgirl.

“I think we wanted this album to feel really luxurious,” Swift explained. “And kind of as a nod to the luxury that a showgirl puts on when she’s onstage.”
“Meanwhile, like in the quick-change room, she’s like [heaving],” she joked. “Maybe that’s just me. I don’t know.”
The “Cruel Summer” songstress concluded her video by noting that she’s happy with how things came together with the look and feel of her new album — something she hoped the fans would also be pleased with.

“The vinyl packaging, the CD packaging, the photographs, the photo cards — it’s all just something I’m very proud of, and it took a lot of time to put together, a lot of concentration, a lot of organization, but hopefully it pays off,” she said. “I hope the fans are happy.”

Swift captioned the video, “Only 13 DAYS until we enter the world of #TSTheLifeofaShowgirl! ❤️🔥 Pre-order album copies featuring luxurious new photos, poems, and more before October 3!”
The video came a day after Swift announced that The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will hit AMC theaters from Oct. 3-5. The film will feature the music video for her single “The Fate of Ophelia,” along with behind-the-scenes footage of how the album was made and “cut-by-cut explanations of what inspired this music.”
“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged 💃,” Swift quipped.
The Life of a Showgirl is out Oct. 3.
