Hannah Berner Reveals the Cosmetic Enhancement She Hasn’t Touched

Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner are real about everything — including their very different skincare routines.

The former Summer House stars turned Giggly Squad podcasters and authors may be joined at the hip, but they can agree that nothing is more different about them than how they take care of their skin, which they talked candidly about during a panel at the Byrdie Social Club event in New York on Sept. 18.

“Paige is a maximalist when it comes to stuff. She’ll also try anything and gets marketed [to] very easily… [whereas] I don’t trust anything,” Berner, 34, joked, adding that she leans into an intuitive approach to balancing out her combination skin type.

Because the We Ride at Dawn comedian works at “really trying to listen” to her skin’s needs, washing her face and applying moisturizer is all she needs — which always leaves DeSorbo, 32, in disbelief, especially when she thinks about the money she spends on her appearance.

Berner admitted that she’s dabbled in some of the trends, including light therapy but hasn’t undergone a laser treatment yet. Really, the key to her skin success is focusing on her “inner happiness.”

“I don’t look in the mirror a lot,” she said. “Sometimes, you get in your head about stuff. It’s like a comedy joke — if I listen to it too much, it stops being funny. If you look at yourself too much, you start being like, ‘I hate that. I hate that,’ so I always look at the mirror a little…then I envision myself as the hottest version of myself all day.”

DeSorbo and Berner touched upon their polar opposite habits in their cover story for Byrdie’s The Muse Issue.

“Hannah has the best skin ever. She’s never done a skincare routine — definitely never done more than four steps,” said DeSorbo, who said she plans on getting a facelift at 45. “And I’ve never, in my almost 10 years of being friends with her, I’ve never once seen a pimple.”

The friends (and soul sisters), however, are in sync when it comes to their outfit choices, even when they’re on the road. Back in January, DeSorbo revealed how much she and Berner are unintentionally in-sync during their Giggly Squad live shows.

“The funny thing with Hannah and I is we are so…we’re best friends obviously, but we’re so mentally connected on another level. We’ve managed to match our outfits almost every single show that we’ve done, but we’ve never once showed each other [our looks] or talked about what we were wearing. We don’t know how we do it every time, but now it’s become a running joke.”
