Burger King Treats Fans to Free Bacon Cheeseburgers for National Cheeseburger Day

Free burgers for everyone!

Burger King is celebrating National Cheeseburger Day on Thursday, Sept. 18, by offering customers a free Bacon Cheeseburger with a $1 purchase.

A press release shared with PEOPLE states that Royal Perks members can take advantage of the free Bacon Cheeseburger at participating locations in the U.S.

The deal is only available on the Burger King app and online for pick-up orders, and it can be activated under the “offers” tab. The offer can only be redeemed once per account, but it can’t be combined with any other coupons or discounts. 

Per the Burger King website, the Bacon Cheeseburger features a flame-grilled beef patty topped with crispy bacon. It also contains American cheese, pickles, yellow mustard and ketchup, all on a toasted sesame bun. 

Burger King has been offering deals throughout the week in recognition of the big day. On Monday, Sept. 15, the fast food joint offered a free hamburger with a $1 purchase. Then on Tuesday, Sept. 16, the restaurant offered a free order of Cini Minis with a $1 purchase, followed by a free Croissan’wich with a $1 purchase. 

On Friday, Sept. 19, customers can redeem a free Whooper Jr. with a $1 purchase. The deals continue over the weekend with Burger King offering a free Cheeseburger on Sept. 20 and a free Original Chicken Sandwich on Sept. 21, both with a $1 purchase. 

Another holiday is on the horizon with National Coffee Day on Sept. 29, which sees the chain offering Royal Perks members a free Medium Iced Coffee with a $1 purchase.

For those looking to get their hands on more freebies, McDonald’s is also offering a special deal in honor of National Cheeseburger Day. Customers of the fast food chain can purchase Double Cheeseburgers at $0.50 through the McDonald’s App on the big day. 

Much like Burger King, there are a few rules to redeem the McDonald’s offer. The deal is exclusive to the chain’s app, and only one burger purchase is allowed per customer.

In July, Burger King brought back the Frozen Cotton Candy Cloud drink, after it was first introduced in April 2024. The beverage is a “delicious blend of bold blue raspberry and nostalgic cotton candy flavors,” per a press release. 

The fan-favorite drink features a cotton candy-flavored frozen base and can be topped with a cold foam “cloud” topping for an additional cost.
