‘The Walking Dead’ script supervisor Amy Blanc Lacy killed in hit-and-run as alleged driver fled scene with his golf clubs
Hollywood script supervisor Amy Blanc Lacy, 62, died after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene with his golf clubs in Atlanta earlier this month.
Lacy, known for her work on over 100 episodes of “The Walking Dead,” was killed on Labor Day when a hit-and-run driver rammed into the car she was a passenger in, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
The filmmaker was sitting in the backseat of a Toyota Prius being driven by her 23-year-old son, Oliver, when the driver of a Hyundai Elantra “lost control” of his car and collided with their vehicle on Sept. 1, the preliminary investigation report, obtained by People said.
The “Loki” script supervisor, Oliver and her 25-year-old son, Adrian, were transported to the hospital.
Lacy, who had over three decades of experience in the entertainment industry, went into a coma and was placed on a ventilator after the accident.
She succumbed to her injuries on Sept. 5 after she was taken off life support on Sept. 5.
The alleged driver of the Elantra, Buck Rollins, removed his golf clubs from his crashed car before “walking away casually from the scene of the accident,” according to the outlet, citing the police affidavit.
Police accused Rollins of driving 90 miles per hour, which was double the speed limit, as he crashed into the trio.
On Sept. 8, Rollins turned himself in to the Fulton County Jail and alleged that he suffered from a seizure and walked home.
Rollins was charged with Homicide by Vehicle (1st Degree), Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, and Speeding.
He was released from jail on a $70,000 bond, according to jail records obtained by The Post.
A funeral for Lacy was held on Sept. 10, according to Fox 5 Atlanta. She leaves behind three children, LuLu, Adrian and Oliver.
Over $60,000 was raised to cover funeral expenses and bills.
“All three of us are under 30 and trying to navigate vast horror and grief while learning about lawyers, insurance, medical bills, and all that,” LuLu Lacy said in a statement on behalf of the family on GoFundMe.
“We are extremely grateful to our mom’s chosen family and loving film community, who have been incredibly supportive and present these past few weeks. Your donations have given us peace of mind as we figure out how to survive and navigate all these expenses!”
Lacy’s children added, “one thing that brings us all comfort is that Amy motherf–in Lacy enjoyed every second of her life on this earth with us all. As her kids, we know we will have her strength, wisdom, and joy with us forever.”
