Chase Chrisley has Todd Chrisley‘s support after revealing that he’s sought treatment for alcohol abuse.

On the latest episode of the Chrisley Confessions podcast, the Chrisley patriarch, 57, opened up about his son’s decision to check into a rehab facility following his struggles with alcohol, which was revealed on the season finale of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality.

“I’m not going to ever walk away from one of my kids. I’m not going to walk away from Chase when he’s down, when he’s having an issue…” Todd explained. “I’m not losing my child to anything.”

While noting that his daughter Savannah Chrisley — who had been in a feud with Chase — ”gets mad” at him for “babying” Chase, 29.

“How much tougher does it have to get?” Todd asked his wife Julie Chrisley.

“In my heart, what I believe is in the best interest of our son is he’s getting the help that he needs,” Todd shared. “He’s doing what he’s supposed to be doing. He’s following his program. He’s being held accountable. Is there one thing I have not held him accountable for? Have I not called out the bulls—? Have I not said, ‘This is the plan. This is what you will do. If you step out of it, this will be the consequences?’ I’ve done that.”

“I just don’t have to go report that to his sister. I don’t have to report that to his other siblings,” he added. “I don’t have to report that to my mother. I have to report that to you because you are his mother.”

Todd confirmed that he and Julie are “on the same plan” about Chase.

“So my son is doing good today, right?” Todd said. Julie confirmed, “Yes, doing good today.”

On the season finale of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality on Sept. 16, the Gold Drop founder checked into a rehab facility. (Chase previously announced his sobriety earlier this year, following an arrest for alleged simple battery.)

“There’s a lot of emotions,” Chase admitted on the way to the facility. “I just need to go and handle a lot of trauma that I have buried.”

“I just thought that I could bury it, bury it, bury it,” he added, explaining that he is “scared” about entering treatment. “I just gotta find myself.”

Todd joined his son and told him that today marked “new beginnings.”

“My life’s story is not going to be that I went to prison for 28 months. Your life story does not have to be that I had an alcohol and substance abuse problem,” he said. “That’s not your life’s story. That’s a part. That’s a chapter.”

After leaving the treatment facility, Chase and Savannah attempted to mend fences amid their ongoing tensions with each other.

“I’m beyond proud of you. I’m beyond thankful for the steps that you took and the responsibility that you carried because, like, I was a mess,” Chase said while apologizing to his sister.

Savannah teared up as she told him, “I know that and I appreciate that. … I’m not truly happy with how I handled my stress and how it came across. … It’s always been said, ‘You’re the strong one, you can deal with it.’ I never wanted to deal with it by myself.”

“What I can do is show up for you now and in the future, because I can’t go back and change anything. But, I’m sorry, Savannah. And, I love you,” Chase shared.

“I love you, and I’m here if you need me,” Savannah replied, to which Chase replied, “You know I am, too. So, hopefully, this is the beginning of a new chapter.”

“I’m proud of you for taking the steps that you’ve taken. You’ve always had so much potential, if you just let yourself fall into and work for it, and I’m proud of you,” Savannah concluded.
