In 1985, Farm Aid had its not so humble beginnings in Champaign, IL.

Neil Young, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp hosted big names like Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Billy Joel, Loretta Lynn and Tom Petty over 14 hours and raised over $9 million (which is roughly $27M in 2025 dollars) to create the Farm Aid organization.

Now, 40 long years later, the three founders are celebrating four decades together at Minneapolis, MN’s Huntington Bank Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 20.

This time around, they’re bringing in heavy heavy hitters like Dave Matthews Band with Tim Reynolds, Kenny Chesney, Wynonna Judd, Billy Strings and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats.

Other biggies on the bill include Margo Price, Lukas Nelson, Trampled By Turtles, Steve Earle and Waxahatchee.

Plus, Eric Burton of Black Pumas will be there, too.

In total, 17 artists are scheduled to take the stage over the course of the one-day extravaganza.

“For 40 years, Farm Aid and our partners have stood with farmers, supporting them to stay on their land even when corporate power, bad policies, and broken promises make it harder to keep going,” Nelson said in a statement. “This year, we’re proud to bring Farm Aid to Minnesota to celebrate the farmers who sustain us and to fight for a food system that works for all of us. Family farmers aren’t backing down, and neither are we.”

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets was $110 including fees on Vivid Seats.

Floor seats start at $310 including fees.

According to Farm Aid’s “what to expect page” on their website, “All food served at the festival is HOMEGROWN Food® — sourced from family farmers who use ecological production practices and are paid a fair price. A varied menu — all served on compostable serviceware — from diverse farmers will offer local beef pho, wild rice bratwursts with cider sauerkraut, honey ice cream, cheese curds and more.”
