‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Saga Continues: ‘TSITP’: The Movie’ Is Coming To Prime Video


Get in, The Summer I Turned Pretty fans! We’re going BACK TO COUSINS BEACH.

That’s right. Turns out summer ISN’T OVER AFTER ALL. The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s third and final season ended on Wednesday, September 17, but Prime Video already announced the beloved franchise is expanding with a The Summer I Turned Pretty movie!

*SCREAMS!*

“Today, Prime Video announced that the global hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty is set to conclude its story with a feature film installation written and directed by Jenny Han,” a press release from Prime Video reads. “While story details are still under wraps, the surprise news was announced this evening at the series’ finale red carpet celebration in Paris, France.”

The Summer I Turned Pretty has struck a chord with audiences everywhere, creating moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection that have made it a global sensation,” said Courtenay Valenti, head of film, streaming and theatrical at Amazon MGM Studios, and Vernon Sanders, Global Head of Television, at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. “We’re proud of the series’ extraordinary success and couldn’t be more excited to partner again with Jenny Han to bring fans an unforgettable next chapter.”

Following TSITP‘s highly-anticipated series finale on Wednesdays, fans who read TSITP Book 3, We’ll Always Have Summer couldn’t help but feel let down by Season 3, Episode 11, as it was notably different from the text. Some were disappointed that Han made a major change to the ending, while others were upset she omitted several beloved book moments from the final episode. But fear not, Han knows what she’s doing! She just wants more space and resources and magic to make it happen!

“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han said, per Prime Video’s press release. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
