The Industry star, 28, wed West End actor Jamie Bogyo after five years together on Sept. 13. The couple first met as students at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2016.
“We were best friends throughout the course, and Jamie finally asked me out when we were graduating in 2019,” Abela told Vogue. “We’ve been together ever since,” she added.

The couple tied the knot in an elegant old-Hollywood-inspired ceremony in East Sussex, England.
Aimée Croysdill helped style the bride and groom. “We made a choice early on to go for British, female designers for clothing and jewellery,” Abela told the magazine. “There’s something so beautiful about having my dress made nearby.”
For the rehearsal dinner, Marisa wore a dress from The Own Studio and completed the look with a Noel Stewart hat. “There’s a photo of Marilyn Monroe in a strapless dress with a shawl that I sent to them and to Aimée,” Marisa recalled to Vogue. “That was the vibe, and they absolutely nailed it. I wanted it to feel bridal, but sexy and chic and playful.”
For her wedding ceremony, the actress wore a classic off-the-shoulder Audrey Hepburn-inspired gown designed by Emilia Wickstead, paired with a pearl headpiece and her hair swept up into an updo. The dress took over 250 hours to make, Vogue reported.
Wickstead also made custom dresses for all of the bridesmaids and the mother of the bride.
Dunhill designed Bogyo’s tuxedo for the ceremony.

The couple previously announced their engagement in an Instagram post on July 7, 2024, which began with a photo of Abela smiling from ear to ear while sporting her new ring and holding a red rose.
Bogyo playfully captioned the post, “She said she’ll think about it!”
When the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, the couple had only been together for two months. “It was a real jump in the deep end to have Jamie move in with me, my mum, and my brother instead of flying back to New York. Miraculously, it worked!” she told the outlet.
Abela will soon appear in Highlander opposite Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, and more. Bogyo will soon appear alongside Amanda Seyfried in The Testament of Ann Lee.
