Jenna Bush Hager is not interested in weight loss injections.
The 43-year-old talk show co-host discussed the topic on the Wednesday, Sept. 17 episode of her show Today with Jenna & Friends alongside actress Rosie Perez.
It began when Perez complained about a recent image shared of her on screen, shouting, “Oh my God, look at me! No, I look so plump.”
Bush Hager assured her that she did not, insisting the photo was taken at “a bad angle.”

“No, Jenna, Jenna I ate like a pig the whole summer. I ate like a pig the whole summer,” Perez, insisted. “We rent a house every summer… my girlfriends come up, and I went, ‘Is everybody on the needle?’ Everybody was skinny, except me! I looked like a beached whale.”
Without referencing a specific GLP-1 drug — several name brands have become popular for weight loss recently — Bush Hager asked Perez: “Is everyone on the needle?”
“Everyone’s on the needle! And no judgement, no judgement. I’m just scared,” Perez said, adding, “If I wasn’t scared, I’d be like,” before miming taking an injection.
“Also, food is so good!” Bush Hager added. “I mean I haven’t done it because I want to eat, you know? Among other reasons.”

The Today co-host has been candid in the past about her evolving approach to body image and body positivity. While previously admitting to struggling with her body image, in 2023, Bush Hager told PEOPLE, “I no longer think that way, and I haven’t for quite some time. I think having children, and your body changing in that way, is such a good reset where you realize, ‘Wow, I’ve been doing this incredible thing, and my body is so much more than a vessel to be made fun of, to be worrying about.’ “
Bush Hager shared that she once found her 9-year-old journal and saw that her New Year’s resolution was to lose 5 lbs.
“What a waste that for however many years, that was my New Year’s resolution,” she told PEOPLE.
As for how she stays healthy now, Bush Hager said that she enjoys her regular workout routine.
“I love exercise,” she admitted. “I’m one of those weird people that love it. I sort of need it for my mind as much as my body.”
