How Jordon Hudson’s ‘DWTS’ talks fell apart at last minute: ‘A little messy’
Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, was in negotiations to join the current season of “Dancing With the Stars,” but things never worked out because she wanted creative control, according to the Daily Mail.
“Jordon was meant to be on the show and they were pushing for it for some time,” an insider told the outlet. “The producers knew they struck gold getting her but they couldn’t get on the same page.”
Hudson, a former NCAA championship cheerleader at Bridgewater State University, reportedly didn’t want her storyline only to be about her relationship with the UNC football coach and the controversy surrounding their relationship.
The couple was the subject of a media firestorm after Hudson interrupted Belichick’s “CBS Mornings” interview in April, when the coach was asked a question abut how they had met.
“Jordon mentioned she wasn’t interested in doing certain interviews and she wanted to control loads, including picking her dance partner and when to practice, so she could attend games with Bill. She also didn’t like the direction that [DWTS] wanted to take her story because it seemed to be all about controversy and she wasn’t interested in making it all about her and Bill,” the insider said.
The negotiations with Hudson reportedly were so far along that “DWTS” producers were left scrambling to find a replacement for her.
Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui signed on for the show’s 34th season — which premiered on ABC Tuesday night — just two days before the full cast was announced.
Derek Hough, who is a judge on the show, previously told Daily Mail, that a cast member had “backed out” of the show, and that things would’ve been “a little messy” if they had stayed.
“I do know [who backed out]. But I can’t share that. I can’t share that,” Hough said. “It would’ve been a little messy, I’ll tell you that.’
Representatives for ABC and Jordon Hudson did not respond to the Daily Mail’s requests for comment.
The Daily Mail previously reported in May that Hudson was approached to join “DWTS,” adding that she would likely decline due to Belichick’s football schedule at UNC.
On Saturday, Hudson joined Belichick on the field at Kenan Memorial Stadium before the Tar Heels notched their first home win of the 2025 season, a 41-6 victory over Richmond.
This isn’t he first time Hudson allegedly collapsed a project because of creative differences.
Hudson reportedly was behind fallout of a nearly done deal between UNC and NFL Films to have the football program be the subject of “Hard Knocks,” a multi-part docuseries that usually follows NFL teams.
Hudson “demanded” to be an executive producer, and told execs to treat her with respect, or they wouldn’t get to use the coach’s “IP,” according to Page Six.
Belichick, who said the pair met on a flight in 2021, said Hudson handles his opportunities outside of UNC.
The couple went public with their relationship in the summer of 2024.
