‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Season 3, Episode 11 Sex Scene Has Fans Weak In The Knees: “Buzz That Will Last My Entire Lifetime”
AT LAST, The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, Episode 11 gave our dear Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) her long-awaited endgame.
But before she got her forever Fisher brother and her triumphant return to Cousins, she got a spectacularly seductive flirt sesh, a life-changing kiss, some world-altering sex, and another iconic Taylor Swift needle drop.
Spoilers for The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, Episode 11.
The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s Season 3 (and series) finale was full of magical moments — both in Cousins and the City of Love. But several Belly and Conrad scenes will go down in history as some of the finest, sexiest, most jaw-droppingly delicious moments in the entire series. So let’s show them some love, shall we?
As a diehard Before Sunrise trilogy stan, few things are sexier and more romantic to me than watching two people walk, talk, and explore a city together. Needless to say, I absolutely devoured all the sight seeing, intimate moments, and palpable tension Belly and Conrad shared around Paris. But once Conrad realizes Benito and Belly are finito at her birthday dinner, the sexual energy between them skyrockets as high as the Eiffel Tower.
“So, Benito. Not your boyfriend?” Conrad coyly asks. “I never said he was,” Belly replies before grabbing a joint from Celine and taking a puff in front of Conrad. “I though you said marijuana messes with white matter,” he says, a powerful nod to their Season 1, Episode 1 pool scene, when he smoked in front of Belly and she challenged him to stop. “Do you memorize every little thing I’ve ever said?” Belly replies, another direct nod to his pilot dialogue. “Yes,” he answers without missing a beat.
In between flashbacks to their core pool memory, the two share dreamy stares that will have you feeling downright feral urges. In an unexpected twist, when Belly gives Conrad the joint, he hands it off to someone else without so much as looking away from her. As they maintain eye contact, it feels as if they’re the only two people on this planet. But this is but an appetizer to a main course. So buckle up and brace for impact!
Next up? Belly’s birthday gift. She didn’t think Conrad got her anything, but during an intimate chat at her party, he revealed he brought a little piece of Cousins to her, whipping out a vial of Original Cousins Beach Sand™, which — wait for it — he collected when they were celebrating a fateful Fourth of July a few years back!!!! “I knew that I wasn’t gonna be back for a long time. And so, whenever I really miss home, I take this out, and it makes me feel closer to everybody. And I thought since, I don’t know, since you won’t be back for a while, I thought you might want to have it,” he explains, and oh my actual god, Jenny Han?! Who the hell is supposed to live up to this thoughtful, sentimental AF man in real life?! Conrad Fisher, you’re dooming us single viewers to lives full of unrealistic expectations!
If there was an Emmy for “I YEARN TO MAKE PASSIONATE LOVE AND MARRY YOU AND NEVER LIVE ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT YOU IN THIS LIFE” eyes, Christopher Briney and Lola Tung would win hands down for their work in this finale. We know what they want to do in that moment; what we want them to do — heck, what we want to do ourselves! But instead of acting on their most primal impulses, Belly sweetly kisses Conrad on the cheek, keeps fanning the will-they-won’t-they flames, and builds even more electric chemistry between them. And for that, we’re thankful.
After more vulnerable Before Sunrise-esque bonding by the water, a full season of Conrad and Belly’s unmatched yearning reaches its climax in truly spectacular, steamy fashion. As the exes slow dance in one of Belly’s favorite spots, they revisit their fallouts at prom and Susannah’s funeral, which felt like “a million years ago.” Belly reveals that Conrad’s letters kept her going in Paris, and the only reason she took so long to reply is because she had to move on and let go of the past first, but as she stands there in front of him, she realizes she’s right back in it. At LITERAL last, Isabela Conklin and Conrad Fisher share a kiss! And another! And another! Soooooo many kisses, by the water, in the back of a cab, on the stairs to Belly’s apartment! They breathe each other in. They can’t keep their hands to themselves. And did we mention Taylor Swift’s “Dress” is playing to perfectly set the mood?!
During their passionate hallway hookup, Belly takes Conrad’s hand and moves it down under her dress. She gasps in pleasure and tilts her head back, and when the two finally make it inside, Conrad hoists her up, pushes her back against the wall, and takes control. AT LAST, they make it to the bed, and he unbuttons his shirt, but stops Belly from taking her dress off. Why? “I want to do it.” SCREAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Belly slides back on the bed, and Conrad meets her there. She mounts him, stares down at her dream guy, and he effortlessly unclasps her bra with one hand — you know, just in case you needed any more proof that this gorgeous, full body chills scene was written by a woman. Just when it seems things can’t get any more perfect, Taylor Swift sings, “Say my name and everything just stops,” and the music cuts out so Conrad — the gold standard hopeless romantic man man — can declare: “I dream about this. You.” HELP! The music resumes, and the two melt into one another as the scene fades out. And damn was that worth the wait.
We won’t spoil what happens next, but if you want a detailed finale play-by-play we’ve got you covered. Fingers crossed that this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Belly, Conrad, and TSITP‘s world.
