A few housewives have some real adjustments to make in Bravo’s latest crossover series.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Bravo shared a first look at its new mashup show, Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, featuring Angie Katsanevas (The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City), Emily Simpson (Orange County), Melissa Gorga (New Jersey) and Dr. Wendy Osefo (Potomac) as they “navigate swapping their everyday comforts and luxuries to fully immerse themselves in a vastly different familial experience,” per a synopsis.
Each episode in the four-episode event series follows a different reality star as they swap lives with a “real wife,” leading to “unexpected conflicts, eye-opening moments and emotional breakthroughs” as they experience “challenges everything they thought they knew about themselves and the world around them,” according to the synopsis.
In the trailer, which kicks off with the Bravolebrities being asked if they’d “ever do Wife Swap,” the series stars find out where they’re headed as they pack their bags, let their kids know what they’re in for and part ways with their loved ones.
“You guys are gonna have a new mommy,” Osefo, 41, tells her kids, as the camera pans to them looking not-so thrilled.
The trailer then cuts to the ladies who are ready to live the Real Housewives lifestyle for a brief period of time — including “off-the-grid homesteader and former Mormon” Lindsay Flake, “free-spirited Floridian” Alethea Shapiro and “disorganized vegan and Double Dutch enthusiast” Michelle Clark.
The change of environment sees Simpson, 49, spending time with a pig and Katsanevas, 51, having to “change the toilet” at the request of a young girl. Not all was uncomfortable, however, as Katsanevas eventually describes learning the “most spiritual, most beautiful life lesson” in the process.
“And I had to go so far away to see it,” she says.

“Through this process, the Real Housewives will question if they can appreciate the lives they left behind and conversely, the real wives will question whether the aspirational lives showcased on reality TV are truly as glamorous as they appear,” the synopsis reads.
The series, which debuts in October, was first announced back in May as part of a new slate of Bravo shows, which also included The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, a reboot of Ladies of London and a Shahs of Sunset spinoff called The Valley: Persian Style.
The reimagined version of Wife Swap comes over two decades after the series’ format hit ABC in 2004, initially airing for six seasons until leaving the air in 2010.
