Lauryn Hill and Daughter Selah Marley Make Rare Appearance at NYFW

Lauryn Hill and her daughter Selah Marley made a stylish cameo at New York Fashion Week.

The “Ex-Factor” singer, 50, and the 26-year-old model and singer attended COS’ NYFW presentation on Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse along Brooklyn’s waterfront. For the occasion, they were outfitted in items from the clothing brand’s Autumn/Winter 2025 collection.

Hill stood by her daughter’s side while wearing a wool jacket with a leather top underneath. A belt accentuated her waist and she finished off her all-black look with dress pants. 

For accessories, the eight-time Grammy winner added pops of color with a red hat and red gloves. The “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” singer styled her hair in short braids, with teal, black and brown beads at the tips.

She rounded off her glam with a dark lip and blue eye shadow. 

Selah, whom Hill shares with Rohan Marley, the son of the late, legendary Jamaican singer-songwriter Bob Marley, paired a navy blue blazer with a bright yellow feathery clutch purse and yellow shoes to match. 

COS’s autumn/winter 2025 collection is “a study in contrast, materiality and craftsmanship, captured through an evocative interplay of space and light,” per a press release. 

Other celebs in attendance included Jodie Turner-Smith, Naomi Watts, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and more. 

Selah started modeling in 2011, when she was in seventh grade, and has since modeled for Chanel, Calvin Klein and Beyoncé’s Ivy Park. 

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE in 2008, Marley explained that Hill, with whom he shares four other children, was a hands-on mother who focused on family while raising their kids. 

“She loves [suburban life], being with her children, seeing them grow and instilling our teachings of righteousness into them,” Marley told PEOPLE, adding that Selah was involved in gymnastics as a child.

Creativity has always been a part of their musical family. “Music is my biggest passion,” Selah told W Magazine in 2017.

That same year, Selah told Flaunt Digital, “My family has instilled greatness in me.”

“My legacy has also ensured that I always perform at my highest capability because I have such large shoes to fill,” Selah added. “I think both sides of my family have worked really hard to liberate the minds of people around the world, and that is why they have such devoted fans.”
