Liberty’s chance at WNBA title repeat in play despite rocky regular season

CHICAGO — The Liberty’s title defense is about to officially begin, and they have the chance to rewrite the narrative of 2025.

The Liberty closed the door on an up-and-down regular season — a mildly underwhelming one — Thursday night.

They’re the No. 5 seed heading into the playoffs — a far drop from where they wanted to be.

Then again, they are the reigning champions, they have a roster loaded with WNBA and EuroLeague champions, and this year’s race to the mountaintop seems especially wide open.
