Brandon Stephens knows what he he needs to do after ugly Jets debut

Brandon Stephens has taken responsibility for his messy Jets debut in the 34-32 loss to the Steelers, and he isn’t trying to overcomplicate what’s needed to make up for it.

“Make plays on the ball,” he told The Post after Jets practice Thursday.

“I did everything that everybody else in the stands saw,” he added. “Plays that I’m in great position, just gotta finish those plays. Yeah, I just gotta play my style of football, our style of football, and make the plays I need to make.”

It could become a complicated issue for the Jets after Stephens — due to coverage issues and “bad eyes,” as defensive coordinator Steve Wilks termed it — allowed five completions for 60 yards and two touchdowns across seven targets.
