DaRon Bland could be out multiple weeks in Cowboys injury crusher
The Cowboys got some bad injury news Wednesday.
Star cornerback DaRon Bland could be sidelined “for a couple of weeks” after he suffered a right foot injury during a Dallas practice on Monday, according to ESPN.
Bland, 26, was wearing a walking boot at the Cowboys’ facility on Wednesday, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The injury comes less than two weeks after Bland signed a four-year, $92 million contract extension with the Cowboys before the start of the 2025 NFL season.
The deal included $50 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $23 million, which makes him the sixth-highest-paid cornerback in the league.
Bland is in the midst of his fourth season in the league after being drafted in the fifth round in 2022 out of Fresno State by Dallas.
In 2023, Bland added both Pro Bowl and All-Pro nods to his resume after recording nine interceptions for 209 yards, including with a record-setting five pick-sixes.

He missed the Cowboys’ first 10 games last season due to injury and struggled upon return, going without any interceptions in seven games.
Bland’s absence could spell trouble for the Cowboys’ defense, which is already dealing with the loss of edge rusher Micah Parsons after the shocking blockbuster trade with the Packers in August.
After losing their season opener against the Eagles last Thursday, the Cowboys are looking to get into the win column against the Giants in Dallas on Sunday.
They will head to Chicago to play the Bears in Week 3 and host the Packers — and Parsons — the week after.
