King Charles is heading to London from Scotland, fueling speculation that he could meet with Prince Harry during his son’s current trip to the U.K.
After spending time at Balmoral Castle, including spending his Accession Day on Sept. 8 in the place where Queen Elizabeth died three years ago, the King, 76, was photographed boarding a plane at Aberdeen airport, according to The Sun. The outlet reported that the monarch is heading to London, where Prince Harry is spending the day at a series of engagements. On Sept. 10, the Duke of Sussex visited Imperial College London’s Centre for Blast Injury Studies.
Prince Harry, 40, arrived in his home country on Sept. 8 for a trip focused on charitable engagements, attending the annual WellChild Awards in London on Monday and visiting the Community Recording Studio in Nottingham on Sept. 9.

If the Duke of Sussex were to meet with his father, it’s thought that it would be their first meeting in person in a year and a half. Prince Harry met with the King in February 2024 following the sovereign’s cancer diagnosis, for which he is continuing treatment.
The Duke of Sussex didn’t see his dad during his most recent trip to the U.K. in April, when he traveled out for a court hearing linked to his longtime appeal to reinstate his state-funded security in the United Kingdom, a case he ultimately lost. (The King and Queen Camilla were on an official state visit to Italy when Harry was in London then.)
King Charles has been in Scotland in recent weeks for the royal family’s annual summer break. On Sept. 6, he and Queen Camilla stepped out to attend the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering. PEOPLE confirmed on Sept. 8 that the King and Queen would spend the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death at her beloved Balmoral, where she died in September 2022 at age 96.
King Charles’ treatment for cancer is thought to be weekly and in the London area.

Though Prince Harry has been estranged from his father and brother, Prince William, after stepping back from his royal role in 2020 and moving to the U.S. with his wife, Meghan Markle, there have been indications in recent months that the strain between father and son may be softening — hinting at the possibility of future reconciliation.
A source told PEOPLE that Harry arrived in the U.K. in a “positive” mood.
“He’s in a really good headspace and looking forward to seeing everyone from his charities and the causes he cares about,” the source said.
