Lizzo and her boyfriend are going strong.
In a cover story interview for New York published on Monday, Sept. 8, the “About Damn Time” gave fans rare insight into her relationship with comedian and musician Myke Wright.
Lizzo, 37, joked that their relationship was a “friends to lovers” trope, “or maybe enemies to lovers.” “I’m really grateful to have someone who’s extremely supportive, who doesn’t ask for s— from me, nor does he need s— from me,” she told the publication about their current relationship.
“He pours into me. He takes care of me.”

At one point in the interview, Wright joined Lizzo for a “planned guitar session.” She strummed along to her song “Love in Real Life” but struggled at a couple of points due to her long nails.
When she finished the song, she was met with applause. “There’s that smile,” Wright raved.
Lizzo —who released her mixtape My Face Hurts From Smiling in June — and Wright met when co-hosting the MTV music series Wonderland in 2016. The two were seen out at Crustacean Beverly Hills in October 2021, sparking romance rumors.
She confirmed she was in a relationship with someone in April 2022 during an appearance on Andy Cohen‘s SiriusXM series Radio Andy. The couple made their red carpet debut that June at a For Your Consideration event for her Amazon Prime reality competition series Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.
Speaking with Vanity Fair in November 2022, Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, called Wright “the love of my life.”
“People fight for monogamy like they pray to it every day. I am not a polyamorous person, I’m not in love with multiple partners. That is not me. He’s [Wright] the love of my life. We are life mates,” she said of their relationship.
The “Truth Hurts” singer also mused on the idea of getting married. “Do I want to get married? If I wanted to start a business with him, I’d get married because that’s when your finances come together.”

She gushed about Wright while on The Howard Stern Show in December 2022. “I am very much in love with Myke. 100 percent. There’s nobody else I’m going to be with for the rest of my life.”
Most recently, Lizzo and Wright made an appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty in March.
