Jennifer Aniston wears a suit with new Aupen Nova bag in NYC
An “It” bag for an “It” girl.
Jennifer Aniston stepped out in New York City on Monday in a chic black suit vest, matching trousers and pointed-toe pumps, but it’s her cool carryall that stole the show. The “Friends” alum debuted a brand new version of Hollywood’s favorite handbag — the Aupen “Nova” bag.
Aniston carried the “Nova Noir” bag, which retails for $340, and is currently not available for purchase. The bag is made out of calfskin leather, featuring gold-tone metal with an adjustable shoulder strap. It’s a twist on their popular Nirvana style worn by Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez and more.
The “Nirvana” bag also retails for $340 — though it’s sold out — and differs in that it features a braided handle.
Aupen’s asymmetrical handbags embody the quiet luxury aesthetic without breaking the bank. They have been spotted on the arms of several stylish celebs, including Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Emily Blunt, Gabrielle Union and more.
Page Six previously spoke to Aupen’s design team — who prefer to remain anonymous — and they revealed the inspiration behind their bags’ signature asymmetrical shapes.
“Influenced by art and architecture, we wanted to move away from the idea of perfection and embrace irregularity and to truly appreciate beauty with all its flaws,” the team shared in October 2023.
Aupen, which a portmanteau of “authentic” and “open,” also credited Jenner with the explosion of popularity of their bags, after she wore their “Fearless” bag while strolling though Manhattan in November 2022.
“We were all overjoyed and thrilled to see our creation of love out there,” the design team told Page Six.
Meanwhile, Aniston, 56, wore another stylish look in NYC on Friday, when she enjoyed a date night with her boyfriend, hypnotist Jim Curtis.
This look was more casual, featuring a white tank top with patchwork denim jeans. She covered up with a tan jacket and accessorized with a black leather handbag and black Tkees flip-flops.
The Emmy-winning actress recently shared her secret to aging gracefully.
“I have an eternal fountain of optimism and positivity. Call it youth if you want,” she told Glamour in a Q&A published earlier this month.
“But I think it all starts with how we love our bodies and love where we are,” she added.
